Hi, new on the forum and thought I would say hello to everyone.

Have a newbie question

Ive just purchased by RRS Supercharged 2006 and was wandering whether its worth mentioning things like privacy glass and 20" alloys to my Insurance company. Im not tying to get away with paying cheaper insurance but I dont really want to give them an excuse to bump up the quote.

Hi and welcome If the above items are factory fitted then just tell your insurance company that, if they have been fitted afterwards then they will try and charge you more for them, if your not sure if they were fitted at factory also tell your insurance company, either way, tell them that its got them fitted just to make sure you are covered for piece of mind, should the worse happen and you have to make a claim and an assessor comes out to inspect your car he will make a full detailed report of your car, including photos, and if its not the spec you told them, they may invalidate your insurance and claim

Thanks mate that was spot on.

The Insurance company replicated what you said earlier.. I told them I wasnt sure if the car had left the showroom with the extras or if the first owner added the items later on after the purchase.

£1250 for the year .. lol i need to either change post code or get a garage.

Anyhow they've got me (cheapest I could find).

Thats what pay out in the sticks so fairly reasonable I would have thought. MY2011 HSE Santorini/Ivory/Piano Black/Privacy Glass/TV .Sadly gone.
