Depends - a proper "tracker" eg the one from the company tracker...are you a previous customer?

£99 if you are a previous customer and then the £170 or £350 subscription Mike

I have had compulsory trackers on a few cars, both useless, especially when you test them as you are entitled too every few months, "i'm sorry sir, we cannot trace the car currently".........unless you are being forced, I wouldn't bother.

I have used Trackstar and Tracker, the prior being utterly shocking! It's mostly a racket with the insurance people, they probably get a bung back of some sort. Evil or Very Mad L322 Big Daddy SUPERCHARGED 5.0 Autobiography - Here & Now!

£350 is for the lifetime subscription.

There is an issue with battery drain on trackers in RRS and D4's i understand

I wont start the debate on having one or not...but if your car has one they should have passed you the stuff for it Mike

Ditto........ Direct Line not covered for theft until they have the paperwork to prove it's been fitted, if I'd have known about this I would have had one fitted before I pick it up tomorrow, so now I'm going to organise a mobile chappy to get it sorted, strange thing is though that my current XF with all the trimmings doesnt require a tracker. The girl on the phone put it down to key theft as that is the only way to steal modern cars, so my insurance has come down, but has gone up £300 this year cos I've got to buy a tracker and tracking subs..................

I dont believe in being told by any insurance company that they "require" a tracker on MY car. I would move insurance companies first.
Most car criminals that have the skill needed to start the RRS will know that where the tracker is situated in the vehicle, a most of us do too. They then just cut it out and through it away.
Not only that I would rather spend the money that the tracker costs to have gap insurance.
If you were handed a choice after some little druggy scroat has had his kicks from skidding round in your pride and joy, would you rather have the payout from the gap and get a new rrs or would you want the car back and have it repaired.
I know my choice Whistle Smile

Anyone got a list of insurers who dont want a tracker ???? I've spent 3 hours on the net and phone trying to get a reasonable price WITHOUT the tracker fitted and I charge £75 an hour !

Mine is eventually all sorted after a lot of backwards and forwards with the insurers regarding proof, dont accept e-mail or fax copies as proof and sent the cert asap to them, phoned 2 weeks later to be told that they still wont cover me for theft ! So have ended up sending another cert registered secure costing me £5.40. The RM tracker tells me it's there but they still say it's not there..................

Next step is to drive to Leeds and stomp thru' their door and get a signed receipt ! 08 2.7 RRS "S"
