insurance on RRS with 22" wheels ..........

Has anyone had a problem getting insurance on their RRS with 22" wheels instead of 20" ???
Ours are querying whether they are to 'manufacturer specification'
Any help/advice appreciated.

Well maybe I did it the wrong way...but insurance never asked the question.....and perhaps if something did happen, I would have changed the wheels over.....but I guess some people do and some don't....perhaps in hindsight better tomtell them you do. But I bet you a few quid that a lot of guys on here rolling on 22's keep quiet

Had this last year via Groupama Insurance asking if approved wheels and if TUV stamped.

Groupama have now stopped offering cover on RRS and FFRR that have values over 50K when i came to renew in late May.
Yet they insure two other cars i own with higher values ! 2014 5.0SC AB

Gone 5.0 SC

That is correct foxy, for the sake of a few quid its not worth the risk not telling your insurance company, but i will also tell them when i put my winter wheels back on which are 19" so maybe i will get a small refund Laughing
Welcome to the site yvonne Thumbs Up

Thx for the replies so far.........ADY, which insurance company did you use ??........I am with More Than and they are saying that they may not want to insure the car at all if the wheels are "not to manufacturers specification"........not even giving the option of paying extra !!
To avoid contacting loads of insurers and asking them, it would be handy if anyone knows companies who def cover the 22" wheels (I don't think the comparison websites let you specify things like wheels)........I agree that it isn't worth not declaring the wheels as I am sure if the worst happened they would try to use it to get out of paying.
Thx again.

All sorted now. Original insurer refused to cover it completely as 22" wheels are "not to manufacturers standard". Tried Admiral (£530) and a couple of brokers and got cover with wheels fully declared for about £40 more than prev insurer (£490 but I did have a claim last year) Big Cry
Thx again and as it's my first RR I am sure I will be back on the forum when I need some help or advice !!

Its always better to completely declare everything on your car, then you can drive trouble free. Smile
