Is My SC broken?, Ive just got 365 miles to a tank

Been on hol to south of France (beach front gite) only went for a week, due to a death in the family, but undetured we whent to the funeral then decided to have a week in Wales (due to hols already booked off from work), with both town and M way driving, managed 365 miles to a tank, averaging 20.2 MPG.
Definately taking the RRS to the south of France next year, maybe get 400 miles a tank.
whats the best any one has got to a tank?(on a sc) I usually get around 200

Normally get bout 300 to 340 on long trips. Around town (short trips) 200 to 240. Don't hang around on motorways 80 to 90 mph. Would never change it or complain about it. Just love the car. Thumbs Up Oh and sorry bout your loss too.

Re: Is My SC broken?, Ive just got 365 miles to a tank

RE: is my S/C broken, i suggest its your right foot that is broken, no self respecting S/C owner hunts for the best MPG, i, with all best intentions do on occasions think to myself i shall drive like Mrs Daisy on this trip but before long my right leg gets twitchy and have to give it some welly, its like trying the fruit pastel challenge, can you suck the pastel without chewing, can you pamper the throttle of a S/C without needing the sweet bass of the exhaust and harmonic squeel of the supercharger.

NO.

Rant over...i did get 23.5 MPG on a 150 mile round trip on A roads and M/way but i have never done the full tank mpg challenge, if treated really nice, the S/C can return a reasonable MPG.

P.S, sorry to hear about your loss. --------------------------

cheers everyone for the support Thumbs Up

I didn't really think it was possible to get over 300 in the sc, in Wales i didn't drive like miss daisy, just with the flow. Main reason for high mpg is the lack of traffic lights stopping you every minute ( seems fasion to put lights every where near me, even if not needed) if you can keep on the move in the rrs it is suprising how far you get on a tank.

Im never really bothered about mpg but I don't think I drive great distances but have filled up twice this week at £100 a go.

I am getting 24mpg from my V6. I do drive with a heavy right foot but is this to be expected?

Range reads 330 miles when full.

On a tip off from a friend I fitted a K & N Air filter (from fleabay about £40) anyway best investment I have made in some time! I was getting around 12mpg around town Now with new K&N I'm getting 15.2 I use sport mode all the time haven't changed my driving style and the car seems more responsive! Cheers Laurence.
