FF 4.4 V8

Ive got the big daddy for the day as the RRS is in (again) for some serious fettling.

OMFG what an engine!!!! Pulls like a train, growls and snarls like a V8 petrol, 8 speed gearbox - loving the paddles - and still getting 24mpg. Hopefully mine won't be back tonight.

Off this afternoon for a hoon up the Dales.

They have got to put that engine in the RRS or in a new RRS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I know.....I'll get my coat.... FF 4.4 V8 Soooo looking forward to this bad boy

Bradders,
I'm not sure why they don't do that all the time especially if they think you may be in the market to change.
When I tried that I was turned down because I wasn't a Genuine Prospect Mad
If the demo isn't booked out on a test drive why not lend it out to keep a disgruntled customer happy? MY2011 HSE Santorini/Ivory/Piano Black/Privacy Glass/TV .Sadly gone.

No need - the garage phoned earlier as they 'forgot' to get warranty approval to do 4 wheel alignment after they replace the steering rack! That could take a couple of days ! Smile FF 4.4 V8 Soooo looking forward to this bad boy

I have had the FFRR 4.4 TDV8 since March and YES what an engine!!! Very Happy ...the 3.6 in my RRS was good but this just takes it to another level.. I just love joining onto a motorway then giving it both barrels!!! Censored Thumbs Up the thing just breathes fire in the same way my old Audi S8 did and that had a 5.2 V10 under the bonnet!!!....If this engine was fitted to a Sport with its tighter suspension then it would blow any X5 or X6 M-sport completely out of the water!!! Twisted Evil Twisted Evil

Wacky - you said it! Thumbs Up

I've been for another spin tonight, with a neighbour who drives an R32 Golf and he not believe the poke. This engine is absolutely unbelievable!! 8 bloody gears for goodness sake.

Im really not looking forward to getting back the RRS with its lowly 3.6 Big Cry Big Cry Big Cry FF 4.4 V8 Soooo looking forward to this bad boy

..........I think that may be a little strong WackyJim, as good as that engine is, it still has to haul around the weight of the sport which is considerably more (in car terms) than those 2 Milli Vanilli variants.

X5/6m - approx. 2380kg
RRS - 2,480 kg – 2,614 kg (dependant on which version)

I know the Diesels have good mid range torquey grunt, but it would struggle to see off the X range toppers with (a) the weight disadvantage and (b) the tuned petrol engines of the Beemers

.........against the BMW X range 3.5d it stands a chance but once again would struggle with its bulk. Lose 500kg and the Sport would romp it and would {probably} be closer to the range topper M's to boot.

Its the only ace the BMW boys can play anyway, power..............they lose on just about every other aspect for this type of vehicle but perhaps more predominantly and importantly, the RR badge, its not all about power, its sometimes nice to have some pedigree DNA and best of all, looks.........something the X range will never have, sure LR could shove in a 600bhp Supercharger and P all over the BMW's X5M/X6M 0-60 time, but why bother.........the reason, they don't have too. Very Happy L322 Big Daddy SUPERCHARGED 5.0 Autobiography - Here & Now!

5 series for the miles Smile

RRS S/C factory built HST - Gone

45 others have been and gone!
