Just looked at the owners manual on TOPix. Not bothered by the change in gear knob/terrain response switch control and I prefer the split tailgate anyway.

Don't find sound on the TV is all that great while moving, so dual view wouldn't bother me.

One thing I did like the look of was the software update for the Sat Nav and menus.

Anyone know if that software can be loaded as an update to a 2011 MY Sport ? Don't mind paying a reasonable price for such an upgrade.

United Kingdom 2012 Range Rover Sport Supercharged Sumatra Black

So has the MY12 spec been released yet? I notice the colours have changed - Santorini Black is now Sumatra for instance, but still the 6 speed 'box on the 5L.

Apparently the spec is with the dealers but embargoed

Dont think there are many changes - 8 Speed Auto box, possibly some power increases - both should provide improved mpg and reduced emissions, changes to the current range rover (and jag) selector and terrain response which i dont personally like.

Its been muted that its going to have a powered rear tailgate (stupid idea if you ask me)

THe colours (bar the few that were changing) have only changed due to pigment supply problems from Japan

Oh i understand there may be a new nav interface...but then i read somewhere there may also be a range rover alleigance scheme for existing owners. Mike

Wait for July (although they could tell you now if you had pushed them).

Are you sure you are getting a 12MY version not the end of the 11! Personally i would be expecting the end of the 11 run Mike

2010 Range Rover Sport TDV8 HSE Santorini Black

the missing gear stick is a big boo boo in my opinion, and if indeed they do replace the split tailgate with a powered one, then that would also be very silly. Why not have a split AND powered tailgate - it's not rocket science!

i'm really interested in whether or not they bring back the TDV8 - the new 4.4L one!! Whistle Whistle Whistle

Thumbs Up ============
2010 TDV8 HSE - ooo laa laaaaaaaaa
2007 TDV8 HSE - superb car and very reliable
============
2012 - dearly departed, sadly missed.. to return in late 2013 with a new TDV8!

I can confirm they are doing away with the split tailgate and replacing it with a one piece powered tailgate, as said above, they are also doing away with the gear stick, they are replacing the six speed gearbox with a eight speed gearbox, i think thats about it The price has increased to £55995 for the HSE model, i don't know what it was before but told its a slight increase, if you order now you will get the 2012 model. Thumbs Up

We had the electronic knob "gearstick" in the XF,it really is strange not having a real 'stick especially as it means you will have to use paddle shifters in Sport mode rather than the much easier(imho) intuitive stick shifts to manually shift.
Gues you would get used to it if you were using it frequently but I never did.
It would be interesting to see how easy it would be to rock in between F and R to get out of a snow drift or slippy grass.
Also remember in LHD you are operating the knob with your right hand BUT in RHD you are using your left hand which if you are anything like me and not ambidextrous is not as easy.
(and it's the same when you're changing gear Rolling with laughter )

I wouldn't miss the RRS split rear door as I never use it and it just confuses women as they keep opening the wrong one BUT I think they have really missed an opportunity to improve by not fitting a FFRR style split tailgate which is so useful for sitting on like yesterday to change into/out of my waders or using as a posing picnic seat at the Point to Points and other outdoorsy events.

Ps.
Just wondering if JLR ever actually ask customers what if anything they would change when making the next MY changes as they sometimes seem to be fixing things that aren't broken,I hate the new interface for phone/music/Nav I much prefer a proper keyboard and seperate controls,it really annoys me having to constantly cycle between the 3 especially when I'm on my own with no navigator/PA to do the phoning/DJ'ing especially as they deleted the 6 CD player Big Cry MY2011 HSE Santorini/Ivory/Piano Black/Privacy Glass/TV .Sadly gone.
