Got my sport. First impressions PICCIES NOW ON POST

2008 HSE Tonga green with ivory interior. Lovely car, nice to drive.

I have a couple of issues that need to be sorted though,

I asked for one of the exterior door handles to be looked at as it was scratched. Looks like they painted it as it is a slightly different shade. So they got to redo that. Couple of other bits of trim inside and out they missed as well so their detailing chap is coming to my office to do it.

Also coming to my office is a chap from LRA on Monday to replace a fuse or something as the electric door mirrors are not working along with the memory seats and memory steering setup.

And on handover the sales chap was ejecting a cd and broke the eject button so now they got to replace the stereo according to him and on the way back i discovered the drivers seat is moving backward and forward when I break and pull away so they are collecting the car to do that as well lol.

Apart from that lot everything is peachy lol.

I have just given up a standard discovery 3 GS for this car so I got a lot more comfort and toys now, only downside I have come across so far is I notice I feel the road and the bumps a bit more than I did with the discovery.

Oh also had me first row with that voice activation bitch. She don't understand west country accent lol

Anyway as long as the stealer sorts everything as promised I think it will be a fine purchase.

Congrats.

Pretty P :censored:ss poor PDI / dealer checks if your list is that long already.

What oh what is wrong with these people......very shoddy and they should be absolutely ashamed.........rectification or not, it is inconvenient to you and a bad start to car ownership, which ever way you dress it up.

To be fair to them I had a list as long as my arm. There were 2 damaged door cards (replaced) interior handles scratched, (all replaced) trim around auto box selector scratched (replaced) various marks and wear on the leather, all looks like new now. The pneumatic rods that keep the boot lid up were rusty on the tops and they have been replaced. Plus a couple of other things.

I don't think the previous owner looked after it at all well. But I was quite pleased to see they had got most of it sorted and the other bits will be done at my office and the seat and replacement stereo will be done at my local stealer who will collect and return the car from the office.

I also got it for 2k less than the local stealer would do for a HSE that was a year older and had higher mileage on it.

I also got by way of an apology for the bits that have gone wrong today they are also giving me a 1/2 day land rover experience day as well.

If you can pick up a set of 18 inch wheels with Disco spec wheels will help with the ride quality, though not as responsive and sharp on the steering then

Been out tonight to a family meal. Got to say I can't wait for them to sort out the seat, it's really bugging me. Moves slightly everytime I stop or move off.

Had a bit of a heart attack though, driving back in the dark and put the indicator on and the front right of the car lit up. Thought, oh no not another issue. Thought I had a short that was bringing on the headlight.

Got home and on inspection I noticed that there is a small lamp directly below the indicator that comes on with the indicator light then goes out again when the indicator is stopped, could you chaps confirm that this is what is refered to in the manual as a cornering light?

Cheers and thanks for the kind words so far

Guy Salmon Bristol.
I will be giving them a week or so to sort out the issues as they have promised to rectify everything I'm not happy about.
If it's not sorted then the feathers will start to fly.

The voice bitch can be your friend you know.... you just got to spend some time putting your info in her... read your manual.

Would love to see a few pictures though. Tonga Green is a great car and only seen a few RRS in it.

Congrats on the car ! ! ! !
Thumbs Up

The voice bitch......Perfect description.
With luck, she may want to take you to the Airport instead of playing CD track 6

I'm not going to waste to much time taming the bitch yet, there are a couple of major issues (seat base moving, cd eject button which was damaged by the sales bloke during handover yesterday and the fuse that has stopped the steering wheel and mirrors from being adjusted) to sort yet as if these issues are not resolved they will be getting it back.

But I have been promised everything will be sorted so hopefully next weekend I will be getting down and dirty with voice bitch. I think she wants me to dominate her, she got that sort of dirty stocking clad school teacher voice going on. Laughing

Congrats on the new car. Shame about the problems but once they're sorted you'll love it.

Forget about the voice bitch. I gave up on it years ago. The only person she listened to was her indoors.
