Found your report very interesting as I've only ever known the new 3.0

Re point 9 - your map reading lights - there is a seriously simple mod you can do - will take no more than 30 mins to do, and works perfectly - there are a few write-ups on here to show you how to do it - that may take it to 9.9/10 !

If you check out this thread

http://www.rrsport.co.uk/forum/topic20566.html

you will find the instructions on how to correct Land Rover's oversight regarding the rear lights. Since making this mod getting the kids in and out of the back of the car has been much easier, no more fumbling in the dark for seatbelts etc Thumbs Up

Have you had the wheels resprayed graphite grey yet?

Simon

I must admit after 6 months of ownership I checked the "Instructional Videos" on the Landrover web site. While mostly basic information I did learn a few hints and tricks I was not previously aware of.

I agree love mine apart fro the stupid things that should have been sorted out before it went into production:

1/Music interface should have stayed seperate, really Censored me off having to go back to Sat Nav least they could have done would be an auto return after say 30 secs.

I had a loan Freelander recently where the audio/phone is separate to the Sat Nav screen. It felt sooo prehistoric. Isn't every manufacturer moving to a single display now? I guess the short fall with LR is they didn't integrate the sat nav or radio information with the instrument binnacle for a secondary display.

I've never noticed this as an issue.

I've no problems with it. I've got a latest BMW F11 530d at the moment and the Sat Nat is far far more frustrating. Little things like the route overview and 3 route view is far better on the RR!

Never had a problem with it. In the south east I find it never looses reception.

In 4 cars now with an iPod interface I have never once missed a cd changer! WINNER - 2009 ‘Just Doing What It’s Designed To Do’ Award

2010 Range Rover Sport TDV8 HSE Santorini Black

actually the fact they have a dedicated NAV button to take you back to the NAV screen does mitigate the problem a bit. Shame the NAV is pants Rolling with laughter

a simple LCD showing track number or track duration (I envisage a white light backed LCD running parallel to the CD slot) would have made the world of difference

or

an overlay to the NAV GUI showing track info when you push the MODE button

or

...

basically a hundred ways to do it better!!
