Sat nav for your mobile phone

Following on from the Tom Tom thread I have been looking at getting sat nav for me & Mrs MDP on our phones.

It would appear having read many articles and product mega tests that there is definatelly a clear winner NAVICORE 2006 edition http://www.navicore.fi/Consumer/Product/De...scription/

For an online review http://www.reghardware.co.uk/2006/03/30/review_navicore_personal/ read all 4 pages

What I really like is .....the software's traffic information and safety camera databases. ..... ..Navicore is bundling subscription-free access to both Thumbs Up

I stand to be corrected on this but I think you need to have a G3 phone to use this. TomTom on a smartPhone has been available for about a year now. 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it
2018 Melting Silver Mini Countryman PHEV - soon to be replaced
2015MY Corris Grey SDv6 HSE Dynamic, the best car I have ever owned, totally reliable only a cou0le of rattles in 3 years, now no longer in my care
Also in my garage is a 1996 TDi300 Defender 90 County HT made into a fake CSW

yeah i have been looking into these also.. unfortunately it doesn't support SE K750i which i have at present.. may change it for another phone for the Audi when it arrives and look for one of these then.. memory card sat nav costs around £55.. bargain!! if you go through MDP's link above, and go to purchase then to the navicore shop link on there.. it gives you the list of phones this gizmo will work on.. quite comprehensive well more so then LR's list of compatible phones anyway!

Basically, unless you have a Nokia Smartphone with Symbian you cannot have Navicore GPS! As Symbian was designed for Psions I wonder if it would work with my old Psion? 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it

Tim I once remember you said you needed a quad band phone ?

I use a Nokia N70 - which I will trade in ASAP this month for the new Nokia N80 - quad band + 3 mega pixel camera ...... and more blah blah blah....

I will load onto this the navicore 2006 sat nav as well - the symbian series 60 software is capable of so much more - there a lots of sites detailing thousands of different software thats available............ a true smartphone .

Also - check out total mobile , mobile choice , what mobile ........... etc they all rate the forthcoming Nokia N80 as the best phone they have ever tested - period Shocked

Until next month when even newer/better phones come along Sad However we are always last to receive these things - Japan already have 10 megapixel camera phones Shocked
