Thanks Forum, for resolving my battery drain issue..

Having left the car on the drive for not even a week and getting the dreaded flat battery, I used the search engine to check out what might be the cause. Things like this that can't be easily explained really irritate me, and having read a few horror threads on here about battery drain issues I went for the top tip of the upper tailgate switch. Low and behold I couldn't open it!! So I pulled out the switch and it had totally perished. A 15 minute drive to the local dealer and £25 for a new switch and i'm happy again.

I did actually get a new battery as when tested my 3.5 year old one appeared to be on the way out, but at least i'll be okay once winter comes round again.

Thanks forum for once again saving me Land Rover labour fees Smile

Not convinced that a Landrover Main Stealer would have found the problem anyway Rolling Eyes

i can certainly say they would not have found this problem even if they did it would be hundreds of £££ later when i had this problem i phoned 2 dealers and both said they have never had any battery drain problems before with the rrs both said bring it in and we will have a look at it £100 plus vat an hour to find it hence 3 weeks later and a lot of testing myself to find the problem
