I think keep the originals on in the summer and fit the Stormers with snow tyres in the autumn.

That is a great idea actually, I too think it will look great. Vadim A.

Saying that it seems a waste of stormers for winter wheels....I would have thought 19" wheels would be better for winter wheels since the tyres protect the wheels better!

Just my thoughts.... I keep getting tempted to fit 20" wheels to my new D3 for summer use and then use my 19's for winter ones.

Thanks Chaps, Although it was a close run thing, Rolling Eyes Whistle Laughing I guess the Originals get the vote Thumbs Up

As for the waste of a set of Stormers as Winter Wheels...... Well I would normally agree.... but, when I said I got a good deal I REALLY mean a VERY VERY GOOD DEAL Mr. Green So actually I'm very happy with what I've got out of it & I think the car looks great with both sets of wheels ...which is a nice bonus Cool

I'll probably get the Original 20"s refurbed now before putting the new summer rubber on them, and one thing I do know for sure is that rubber WON'T have Continental stamped on it!

Thanks again for all the input chaps... It's much appreciated Thumbs Up 2013 Discovery HSE Luxury - 3.0 SDV6 - Santorini Black

Scotland 2010 Range Rover Sport 3.0 TDV6 SE Santorini Black

Damn, saw this thread too late before it went all "emperors new clothes"!!! , well I think it looks just fine on the stormers!! I have always thought they were the best wheel for the rrs, and when it came to getting new wheels I had the choice of these or the originals , both had contis, for £1350, and plumper for the stormers- I think the multispoke ones look too weedy! Also, round here all the new ones have those wheels, and most old gen ones have other styles, either v or y spoke, so mine looks kind of unique!
You are right about the contis, just changed this week to Goodyear excellence, car is much more stable in standing water and hopefully milage will be a bit better!
Cheers

Laughing Laughing I know what you mean Dave! For me it's a pretty close run thing and TBH the photo I took of the car with the Stormers fitted doesn't do it justice. I had a look at your gallery & your buggy looks great IMHO Thumbs Up 2013 Discovery HSE Luxury - 3.0 SDV6 - Santorini Black

I agree. Ordered the 2011 TDV6 Luxury Spec (I think equivelent to HSE) and replacing the standard wheels with Stormers was a no cost option. I went for it without hesitation, I reckon the stormers are way better than the 20inch luxury ones (as shown in the original picture). Give the car a meatier stance and look easier to clean too!!

I suppose it all comes down to personal preference, but I always like simple alloys rather than multispokes (eg the Mk5 VWR32 first generation wheels are not as good as the Mk5 2nd Gen, in my opinion).

I am really getting sick of the wait for this car - Ordered December, hopeful of a mid May delivery... 2011 TDV6 Luxury - Baltic Blue, Ebony with Contrast Stitch, RSE, Stormers, Towpack.

Too late also probably, but Stormers still do it for me, regardless of it being a new gen... Smile

I love the Stormer design but on this occasion I have to agree they make the car look "older"
