Travellers Cheques

I know through experience that in the US you can use travellers cheques almost like cash and they will be accepted almost anywhere, does anybody know if is the same in Canada using Canadian Dollar TC's.

Going next week and looking at my spending options as i am sick of getting hammered for taking cash out of ATM's and using the credit card and not happy carrying lots of cash.

Cheers

Can only cash TC's in bank so tied to visiting bank for cash, in the US i have aleays used a $100 TC for say a beer & burger and had the change in cash.

Alternative is cash, credit card or ATM the latter 2 carrying heavy commision charges over period of 2 weeks if using regular, wife and daughter with me so not a case of if Crying or Very sad

I use a FairFx Euro pre loaded mastercard in Europe with no charges on CC transactons and none on ATM withdrawls but unfortunately they do not do one specifically for the Canadian dollar.

"Bum Bag!!!" North America mate so it will be a fanny pack, being south of the M62 i thought you would have known that Whistle

As per my earlier post Pre Pay like the FairFX Mastercard which i have for Euro's and commision and ATM charge free but they do not do one for Canada.

2013 Range Rover Sport SDV6 HSE Stornoway Grey

Just remember that Canada used to be British and a small bit French - we taught them what they know, don't mix them up with the strange race south of the border as they get very upset and like to do things differently to the simple folks further south.
Yes Americans take TC's for granted but I've had problems there with them because so many get forged.

BTW Leeds, BC is the next place after South Island New Zealand that I would prefer to live after Scotland - they have a similar attitude to time in all three places! 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it
2018 Melting Silver Mini Countryman PHEV - soon to be replaced
2015MY Corris Grey SDv6 HSE Dynamic, the best car I have ever owned, totally reliable only a cou0le of rattles in 3 years, now no longer in my care
Also in my garage is a 1996 TDi300 Defender 90 County HT made into a fake CSW
