Oil

How are people sourcing the correct spec oil...

I went to buy 5-30 meeting the ford WSS-M2C934-B to find nothing! There was the earlier one (914 - which i have 8l in the garage) - but apparently this isnt good.

Has anyone else overcome the oil problem and got the correct spec Castrol? Mike

Was in costco on Friday and today - saw they had it on special (20% off the already cheap price).

Unfortunately its all the wrong spec for the sport rather annoyingly Mike

They changed it for the 3.0TDV6...i have loads of the 913 spec...but need WSS-M2C934-B for the sport Big Cry

Dealer has said they will give me some this week, if they do i will be very pleased and they will raise higher in my estimation Thumbs Up Mike

No trouble Thumbs Up

Apparently this is also an issue for Jag - but yes the 2011MY oil is different for the 5.0l SC and the 3.0TDV6 - Whilst they say you can now buy it...you cant (other than from a dealer and opioils - but the latter not castrol as recommended).

A small issue for me - but a massive issue if you needed it, which i might soon (given its running in)

And its worth watching - the wrong oil will screw the DPF, increase fuel consuption and if something went wrong im sure they would invalidate your warranty! Mike

I bought mine from Opie Oils Ltd, Shell Helix Ultra AF-L 5W-30 synthetic low SAPS engine oil (Sulphated Ash and Phosphorous) for £41.35 for 5 litres. Conforms to Fords WSS-M2C934-B specs.

I think the difference is it has to be low SAPS oil to protect the DPF.

Shell Helix meets the for 934-B Spec.

The later spec is suppose to protect your DPF, improve MPG and something else that i forget.

They (jag) issued (in early 10) advisory that for top ups only you could use the lower spec...but that has now been withdrawn and apparently you shouldnt use the earlier oil - again apparently this will now invalidate your warranty

As i mentioned Opie Oils do it (do 2 actually)...dealers do it, not sure of the price - like i said, they have offered some to me. Mike
