Steering Rack Sticks + Intermittent Vibrations

Hi All

Now, whilst the car was in to get the knocking noise corrected - they were also looking into an issue with my steering rack, in that the rack is tight when you first start the vehicle.
It is like it has a tight spot - but it doesn't matter where the steering is positioned, the same thing happens?

Obviously the dealers have noticed this fault - but advised they can't do anything under warranty yet, as the fault is only evident that once???

Now my vehicle has 20" rims, which were LR fit (but I have a 19" spare??).

Also - every now and then, I get a shuddering through the car that is felt through the drivers seat etc, whereby I have been getting the wheels balanced, tracking done so many times now - it's taking the p**s.

Has anyone else had this issue?

I had a stickiness from the steering, it was only apparent when turning, it was one of the universal joints on the steering column, so all of them (2, I think) were replaced and no problems since.

Thanks - I will have a look at this, but I would have thought if it was the UV joint - it would be a constant thing, and not simply the first time you start the car up?

What year is the car ? Early 2010 to mid 2010 by any chance ? 2014 5.0SC AB

the problem in my steering wasnt constant, came on gradually, guess heat has an effect as well. Also the stickiness was only apparent when the uj was in a particular position
