NOW SORTED - HELP!!! Fans not working?

My fans have given up the ghost. The dial lights up with the dots to show how high the fans are on and the auto lights light up but no fans. Heated seats work and so do front and rear demisters. The demist program button also lights up but no fans. Anyone got any ideas before I go pulling it apart tomorrow?

Hi DJ

Could be the fan speed controller/resistor. I had a similar problem on an old 5-series estate a few years ago. The actual controller was a weird looking thing that bolted into the middle of the fan assembly. Not sure if such a thing exists in the RRS but I would imagine that this type of part would be a good place to start.

Perhaps Bobby will pop up soon with a diagram for you Thumbs Up

Simon

Would the lights on the control panel still work if a fuse?

VA - Yes I do. The fitter had forgot to connect the cigarette lighter Rolling Eyes so when I did this the cable was to short so had pulled the cable out of the fan control. Obviously not connected properly Laughing
