United Kingdom 2008 Range Rover Sport TDV6 HSE Java Black
2008 TDV6 RRS JAVA BLACK FOR SALE

FOR SALE: 2008 TDV6 RRS JAVA BLACK RRS FOR SALE

The Good Points

Java Black with Alpaca leather
Feb 2008 SE (57 Plate)
52000 miles
MOT'ed until 15/02/2012
Taxed until 31/05/2011
Stratstone warranty until 01/09/2011
2 Year Paid up Stratstone Service Plan until 01/03/2013
No modifications

For sale is my wife's RRS - driven by her, looked after by me.

Rolling with laughter

The vehicle has recently carried us to the Alps and back, just under 2000 miles round trip and averaged a staggering 27mpg even with the top-boxes on (see gallery for more images). You could not find a more comfortable vehicle to travel that distance in.

The vehicle manifests no problems with the air suspension and the only items that have been replaced under warranty whilst under our ownership have been a low washer fluid sensor (spurious warning) and the rear tailgate struts (evidence of some light rust).

The vehicle has the standard SE spec but includes 20" Stormers, rear privacy glass, chrome mirror caps, door handles and vents/grills.

SE spec includes 2.7 V6 turbo diesel engine with a 6-speed adaptive automatic gearbox, air suspension, Terrain Response (fantastic system which a Land Rover Experience Day will introduce you to), multi-channel ABS, HDC, Xenons, Front & Rear Fogs, Touch Screen Sat-Nav, Heated front seats, 6 disc CD, electric driver and passenger seat, Cruise Control, superb Harmon Kardon audio system, full auto climate control, integral bluetooth handsfree, rear parking sensors, and more....

There is an iPod lead to connect your iPhone / iPod to the audio system via the AUX input.

The vehicle also has the OEM rubber RRS mats with their chrome edges which are super easy to clean.

In addition, the vehicle can be supplied with the OEM RRS roof rails and cross bars, or I can remove them for the prospective buyer. These are a £270 option which are highly useful if you do alot of outdoor activities and want to keep your dirty gear/bikes/skis/snowboards out of the car.

All 4 tyres are Hankooks and have 6-7mm of tread left according to my tread wear gauge. The alloys are in great condition and not kerbed anywhere (2 were refurbished yesterday as they had light cosmetic damage).

The Bad Points

The driver seat has some wear to the right bolster (you can see in the first image). I can provide more photos of this if required. The vehicle had this wear when we bought it and we have been careful not to add to it.

There is a stone chip in the middle of the windscreen which, again, was there when we purchased the vehicle. We made sure that it was filled prior to our purchase and it has gotten no worse over the duration of our ownership.

An excellent vehicle all-round especially when it snows. She will be sorely missed.

Unfortunately, work is taking us away from home for most of the summer so it needs a new owner. There was also some mention of too many toys in the garage.

Rolling with laughter

I am seeking offers around £27500. The car has HPi finance on it at present but I can pay this off at any time with a phone call dependent on interest in the vehicle.

Members of the forum have first shout as I have not yet advertised her elsewhere but I will obviously be advertising the vehicle on Pistonheads imminently, and, seeing if the local dealer whom I bought the car from will offer me a sensible price for the vehicle.

If you want more info, please PM, text or call me.

Regards

United Kingdom 2007 Range Rover Sport TDV6 HSE Java Black

Hi J

nice motor. For info, I just sold (last week) my 07 HSE, 42k miles for £25,500. Lots of interest but most calles were from traders. A nice chap ( a dealer) from Loughborough bought mine which was almost identical to yours (mine being a lower miles HSE). Private buyers at this price are scare as they are seeking finance and warranty. Good luck with the sale - she looks a nice one. If you want the number of the dealer who bought mine, I'm happy happy to recommend and pass on the details.

cheers

muffd,

Thanks for the feedback and by all means PM me his details or recommend me/the vehicle to him. Out of curiousity, have you discovered what he put your vehicle back on the market for or don't you want to know?

Big Cry

I used your vehicle, Pistonheads and the Land Rover "Used Car Locator" as a reference for pricing the vehicle.

I sold my RS4 last year and exactly as you say, lots of interest, but most people need finance, although it is still possible to get personal loans at better than the typical 8% offered to you by finance houses. In the end it went to the local Audi Dealer whom I have a good contact at on a "Sale or Return" basis and I got exactly what I wanted for it.

There is definitely some flex on the price and there might be the odd buyer out there who has that kind of cash in the bank.

Shocked

Basically, the vehicle should be a minimum cost proposition for a few years with all that is needed being a tax disc in May and the cost of topping up the warranty if so desired towards the end of the year.

Once again, thanks for the comments.

I had a nightmare trying to get some cheap bars/rails...as you can see from previous posts on the forum. Luckily SkyWalker came to the rescue.

I bought what I thought was a set off EBay and it turned out only to be the cross bars. If you're inclined to do the same, watch out for that trick, because you can't buy the rails seperate from the bars, so you'll be left with a useless bit of kit.

The cross bars have the channel in them that will take an inverted T-bar bit which secures your boxes or bike-carriers to it. When not being used, but still on the car, they have a rubber strip that sits in the channel or else they'll whistle like "sleeve of wizard".

Rolling with laughter

They are about 3 months old - all washers, spacers, screws, instructions included.

£120 is a bit low though. These are the original OEM product (not a Thule set) and will cost you £350 from a dealer or £325 from Duckworth by the time you add the VAT.

Come and collect for £200 and they're yours or else we can meet at Junction 17 as I "whistle" past to Marlow.

Cheers SR Thumbs Up

I'm still torn between a roof system or a towball solution....

£200 can get me a brand new towball rack and I can then sell my pair of Mont Blanc Barracuda's (The only reason I'm currently entertaining getting a roof rack, just to use them again!)

I'll have a think Whistle RRS gone

Yeah its a tricky one that....towball, roof, towball, roof...

I've got Thule 591's which I use on all three vehicles depending on which one is free for the bike trip.

I like them on the roof for easy access to the boot but, really, its my only option as none of the cars have a tow ball.

Well cut a long story short its taken until now to get our money for the sale of this vehicle.

Inspite of a written SOR contract with the motor trader concerned, the whole process went totally off the rails and Trading Standards got involved along with calls to the police and DVLA.

It was looking like going to court was going to be the only way we were going to get our money but the situation has finally resolved itself today.

If you're dealing with independents BE CAREFUL.

I'm not sure I'll ever go down that road again.

Censored

Anyway, I've got a set of OEM rubber mats with the chrome gussets left over (£60) and a full set of OEM rails and bars (£175).

Ideally for collection somewhere along the M4 corridor although for a few extra quid they can be posted.
