Fitting Brembo calipers???

Is it a straight forward process of just removing the old calipers and fitting Brembo ones or is there more to it?

It's relatively straight forward but requires changing the whole brake kit (not just the calipers)...

When you say brake kit? Do you know exactly what's needed?

I have had my brakes upgraded to brembos 2 weeks ago. I have the 2.7tdv6 sport. Bought the calipers and was given the dirt guards you can modify your standard ones but since I was given the genuine lot I didnt bother. I bought a set of 380mm discs and pads for £125 (Brake World) and it was a straight fit no problems at all. Look great. Would recommend it to all who are thinking of doing it.

Can I ask what the financial damage was on the calipers?

This is about the only mod I'd do on the TDV6. 00 Audi B5 S4 MRC550'ed

Just replaced my standard calipers with the brembos, and can also confirm it is a straight swap.

The rotors/pads had to be changed anyow, so it was a good moment to also swap the calipers

Here is a picture showing the original rotor compared to the brembo (360mm) one:

Hi folks,
Are the brembo's much better than the small brakes? I guess they should be but other people seem to be just doing this because they look nice. Is it worth doing for braking's sake if I'm not bothered about looks?

Actually i am very anal about brakes, my JDM Subaru STi Specs C came equipped with standard Brambo's 4 Pistons front & 2 pistons rear calipers on huge rotors- i was severely lacking when one drives it robustly.

05 'E46 M3 had a entire brake change, threw the factory items out & changed to AP Racing Slotted Rotors anchored to 6 pistons front & 4 pistons rear while rotors are FULL Floating design. However when under intense usage, it still protest like a pig & has brake fad!

07'Mk 5 VW Golf GTi, threw out the largest production factory brakes come fitted to any ride (single piston calipers) & ponk in the AP Racing Pro5000+ Endurance calipers & mated it with AP Racing J Hook vane rotors that is Full Free Floating- now this is 1 serious kit, one can abuse it like there's No Tomorrow & it'll stop everytime & anytime like hitting a brick wall when you ppaddle to the metal on you brake peddle.

08-09'Nissan R35 GTR, i bin the factory brakes (it's supposed to be even better than the Porsche Turbos non ceremic) after 4000km of intense usage & all the 4 brake rotors were shot thru & thru with the drilled holes cracked! Changed it too Endless Forged Monoblock Big Brake kit & it's been serving me just fine all these years without any issues. Mind you, porsche Cup car (race cars uses the Endless RF650 Brake fluids & pads) uses Endless fm factory!

Now, if you do spirited driving & hard braking into corners (trail braking) then you'll need the best money can get for your ride for i believe you'll agree that a Range Rover has lots of dead weight to lag around hence it'll stressed the brakes much more than 'lesser'cars.

I assume that the wheels may also need to be changed to accomodate the bigger brakes...

I understand 19" wheels is the minimum for the TDV8 because of the Brembo brakes. 1999 Discovery II V8 auto
