New RRS - Factory Fitted Goodyears - not Contis

Having read alot on this forum before getting the car, most people sem to have had Continentals fitted by Land Rover. When I picked my new car up yesterday it had Goodyear Excellence tyres on - anyone have any experience of these and are they better/worse than the contis? 3.0 SDV6 HSE Dynamic, Corris Grey with contrast Santorini Black Panoramic Roof, lunar interior, privacy glass, upgraded Meridian system, cooled 18 way front seats, heated steering wheel, adaptive xenons, large screen wash bottle.

Had a look at my new HSE (Bali Blue) yesterday, was very pleased to see Goodyears fitted. Roll on March
We dont but these cars for their economy, but the loss of 2-3mpg because I had continentals fitted to my 2006 Hse, as the Goodyears at 25K were done, was annoying.
Possibly the Continetals ride a little better, but there's not much in it.

I had all 4 wheels fitted with Contis last week and I'm impressed with both the better handling and better MPG than the previous Pirellis !
On a long run down to Basildon this week and back I got an average of 33mpg which is 2 mpg better than I normally get.
Don't look as if they will be better in deep snow though so that could be a problem in the next couple of months. MY2011 HSE Santorini/Ivory/Piano Black/Privacy Glass/TV .Sadly gone.

I'd have to agree with the 33mpg on a long run, keeping to 75 Mph Max, but the Goodyears used to give me 35mpg on a long run.
I have to keep reminding myself that I'm driving a vechicle capable of covering rough terrian when travelling the motorways an the legal max Wink
I'm looking forward to the extra urge of the 3 litre unit. Very Happy

The Contis are very poor if you hit standing water, especially if it's only with one side of the car. Driving on mainly rural roads up here in the N.E. of Scotland I have to say that I hated the Contis. My previous RRS had Goodyears and I never had a problem. I currently have Winter Tyres (Vredestein Extrem 4) on my car and they are superb (even on dry roads). When it comes time to swap over to summer tyres again I won't be putting Contis any where near my car. 2013 Discovery HSE Luxury - 3.0 SDV6 - Santorini Black

Don't think I would have chosen them given the fine tread pattern but they must have been considerably cheaper than the Pirrellis as I wasn't given an option due to the expiry of the contact hire period in 3 weeks. MY2011 HSE Santorini/Ivory/Piano Black/Privacy Glass/TV .Sadly gone.

Any of you fine chaps any experience of General Grabber tyres?
My more adventurist chums rant on about them and I'm due a change.
Presently running Wrangler and have found them excellent.
