cornering lights

Hi to all members!
I've a little question: on my 2007 RRS TDV8 the cornering lights just start if I use the side repeters, but on a my friend's 2007 RRS TDV6 with dynamic response the cornering lights work always when he turns the stering and under 45 km/h.
Anyone knows how to activate this?
Thanks a lot for your time and excuse me for my bad English.

Mine is a 2005 S/C with dynamic response and cornering lights, they only activate at slow speed and with the indicator on. Definitely slower than 45 kph, more like 10 kph (mph ofcourse here in the UK)

I do not think it has anything to do with dynamic response, probably more with adaptive lights, but not sure.
My old TDV6 did not have DR but had adaptive lights, the cornering lights behaved like my present TDV8 with DR and adaptive, come on with indicator or turning the steering wheel(and for sure up to speeds faster than 10 kph) '08 RRS TDV8

Naylor both lamps should look the same, I suspect that your nearside lamp may have blown. I ts possible to replace these with LEDs now so might be worth looking into replacing both lamps at the same time.

In all the cars I have had with Adaptive headlights the "directional" side light has always come on when indicating and the speed has been below about 25mph AND when the headlights are on dipped beam (like in a multi storey carpark) when the doing above or just turning the wheel more than a set amount at low speed. I was always surprised how many passengers used to comment at night that they could see an additional light coming on when driving the local very twisty back roads where the corners can only be taken at very slow speeds. 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it

Hiya Tim , thanks for getting back to my post , I've had a look at the passenger side headlamp and there isn't a bulb in there , not even any wiring . Looking at the headlight from the front all I can see is a chrome dome where the bulb should be . ?
It looks like i only have cornering lights on the drivers side ?

Looks like someone has replaced one of the headlights with the cheapest unit they could find. Hence the lack of a static bending beam in that unit. 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders
2008 TDV8 - it was a labour of love and is much missed

I have a MY10 and cornering lights come on at low speeds but do not require the indicator to be on. Could it be different for a TDV8?

No, they do all do that AFAIK. There are two separate "functions"; the "cornering [lamp]" - with the indicators, and the "static bending" - with the steering. Thumbs Up Visiting from DISCO3.CO.UK

Are you sure it's not a silver bulb been put in I replaced all my Orange bulbs with the chrome ones, Maybe they put one in the direction position by mistake. I would take the headlight out and investigate the rear itisme
