What can I get for 25k

Hi there

I'm looking at getting my first sport soon and have been looking but prices seem to be all over...
What should I be looking at for around 25k?
I know I'm at the bottom end of the Market here is this going to be a bad move?
I keep hearing things about reliability that put me off? Are they that bad?
Cheers in advance
Craig

United Kingdom 2006 Range Rover Sport TDV6 HSE Java Black

You will be able to get a supercharged with that money easy. I've seen some for 20k and below.

Deisel wise I would say you should have quite a choose with the TDV6 depending on what sort of mileage. I may be wrong but TDV8's are probably still fetching more than this unless it's high mileage.

Go for a HSE if it's diesel your after Thumbs Up

Had mine just over a year and yes I've had a couple of little niggles but nothing majour. Every car is the same tho, there's some on here who have had there's for years with no issues and then others who have had non stop problems.

I think you could get an 07 model (maybe on a 56 plate) for that kinda money - just sold my HSE on a 56 but the 07 model which gives you brembo, bluetooth, dynamic response as standard etc....

I had 67K miles and it went at 24K - and it flew out on a same day sale - guy off here has got a lovely one for the 25/26 mark - it's black with Alpaca leather - and a sunroof I think - great looking car - check the For Sale/Wanted - low miles too.....but he's in Scotland...

That's an 'S'.....not worth having.....

you'd be better off with an 06/07 HSE

yes but thats only an S.....lowest of the low.....go for a HSE every time if you can....

I like Muffd's car - not on commision, but tidy car with good miles - interior is a good contrast and no wood!!

For 25k I would expect a decent mileage (sub 40k) 06-07 plate TDV6 HSE in a sought after colour like black or grey

for lesser colours or supercharged you will get more for your money

United Kingdom 2008 Range Rover Sport TDV8 HST Java Black

I have recently bought one so here is my 10 pence worth.............

Go and drive a TDV6 one BEFORE you decide you want one. I had one for the weekend and it was woefully slow and bad round corners (no Dynamic pack). For just a little bit more money you could get the TDV8 which is a monster of a machine Cool

Dont get me wrong, there is nothing wrong with the TDV6, but test drive both and then make your mind up. Even if it means waiting a month or 2 to release a little more cash I strongly recommend the TDV8 Thumbs Up

Obviously an SC is in your price range, but then there is the petrol consumption argument, which in the current climate I'm sure you will agree is a losing one Rolling with laughter

Alternatively, get a 56/07 car with the Dynamic Pack as standard - I'm no slow driver and maybe my car was different, but my TDV6 didn't feel slow. Compared to a MY10 TDV8 I drive 2 months ago, mine felt brisker - the only thing the TDV8 offered was a great sound - know it sounds stupid but tis true....

And I never ever thought an RRS is a car for shooting the boll***Ks out of, it's a refined cruising car, not a Golf GTI

Totally agree, but I wouldn't feel comfortable overtaking on my local B roads in a V6, it just lacks the torque but is still a good car. Not skitting you motor Nick Wink

Go to your local dealer and test drive both back to back!

No worries mate, sadly the car has gone as of 2 weeks ago, but now looking to replace it with another one in the summer, but I am still going with the 3.0 V6 and not a used TDV8....must have been something worng with the one I drove...felt like a donkey!

I have never driven a FFRR, but the RRS still had the most refined ride and driving opinion I've ever experienced....

One guy that test drove mine and wanted to buy it said that my car didn't have the lag that some cars have and none of the knocking issues either - so mine must have been a rare one! who knows....

There's nigh on 100bhp and 3secs difference 0-60, plus 200nM of torque Shocked

I would say the one you test drove may have been a pig Whistle Wink
