iPhone phonebook - can caller I'd display when receiving cal

When I receive a call only the digits appear on the stereo, can this be linked to phonebook to show the name of the caller? Thanks You can live in your car but you cant race your house
just put white indicatrs on, have all black badges ready and have quote for rear tints and dvd's

My 08 RRS SC already does that via Bluetooth with the iPhone 3GS. Ensure your phone book is transferred across.

Not sure abou other phone brands though.

Have you transfered all of the contacts from your iPhone into the entertainment system in the car? Mine did it automatically when I paired the iPhone via blue tooth.

Hmmmm...a case of RTFM then. This is my first RRS SC and my first iphone 3GS....everything went smooth as silk when I first paired the phone etc so I couldn't really comment on the trouble shooting part.

Perhaps some other wise bod will come along soon?

Good luck.

This means the contact names actually stored in your mobile phone.
(Not a three inch thick 5lb paperback kept next to the phone) Mr. Green

The transfer of names to the car should come automatically when you go blue tooth......... or thats what mine did anyway.

I just got the Bluetooth system upgrade to my 2005 RRS last Friday... the most irritating issue was the 3GS iphone not pairing automatically and when that was solved I had put "find out how to download contacts from phone to car" onto my mental to-do list. However, this morning, much to my delight I saw it had happened automatically. Just had no one ring me all the time I was in the car over the weekend, so never realised!

If it hasn't happened automatically, perhaps your bluetooth needs upgraded ?

It is an actual physical upgrade L888DER, they took out the older original bluetooth module from 2005 (I think it's somewhere under the boot floor) and replaced it with a newer unit, I think the one which is in all 2010 models. Was around £400 with fitting at the dealership, which included a few relevant software upgrades.

To be honest, the real pain was having to pair the iphone every time I got into the car, could have lived without the phonebook download feature, but invariably I would get a call every time I forgot to manually pair it!

Contact "Wiggs" who appears earlier in this thread (he normally lives on the Disco3 forum), if you give him the right info, he will advise if he can help or not.

I had the same pairing (re-enter pin each time it connects) and phonebook issue (showing number not name on the display). I took the module out of my 07 RRS and my mate took the module up to Wiggs and he sorted it and sent it back for a very reasonable fee. Bow down

Think there is a sticky thread about this somewhere.

Cheers,

Mark
