How do i remove the cool box and cubby lid ?

Hi all

Does anyone have instructions on how to remove the centre console cubby box lid and cool box etc so that i can unplug the hard wired phone connection in my 05 S/C ? I hope i dont have to take the whole console out inc gear knob etc, anyone know this?

I want to see if unplugging allows my bluetooth to work since im having problems and have read that the cradle will take priority over the bluetooth. I dont have a cradle fitted but i get a "phone removed" message when i turn the ignition on which suggests the RRS is working with the hard wired phone rather than bluetooth.

I hope unplugging switches me over?

Thanks

Carl

Hi Carlos,

I have a pdf for the reto fitment for the centre cool box here from landrover.

If i remember correctly you do have to remove the cubby box lid by prising off the 2 grey side clips where the lid pivots and then remove the screws, this is not shown in the instructions.

I would check that your bluetooth is connecting properly. When the bluetooth on the phone is disconnected from the RRS you get the same message. 2005 Zambezi TDV6 - Gone but not forgotten

Im not able to find the RRS with any phones and i have just had my module updated with the latest LR software and then confirmed working in another vehicle.

My next assumption was that i have a problem with the wired cradle connection (without cradle fitted) and the RRS wants to use the wired phone each time hence no bluetooth set up

I tried to remove the centre console trim today to get at the screws for the cool box but after removing the gear knob and radio side panels was unable to get the console panel & hockey sticks off. I took the 2 screws out at the top next to the radio and could feel the very top of each hockey stick unclip but after that it was solid. I gave up as i didn't want to snap it.

Is this normal or have i missed something?

Thanks Bobby

A couple of questions, where are the 3 screws it refers to ? I didn't remove the ride and handling optimisation switch part of the upper console trim (the bit the gear knob comes through) and wonder if that stopped me releasing the 6 clips?

Do I just pull up on the hockey sticks to remove the console after I remove the ride and handling part of the console?

Carlos, I have not done this myself - just happened to have the instructions on hand! Wink

Yes, I believe you pull, just clips holding them.

This exercise was discussed in detail sometime back - you may have to do a search I think. Malaysia Boleh!

Bobby, do you have the instructions for removing the ride and handling switch, item 2 in the procedure you sent me on removal of the upper floor console?

I don't know how to get the plastic surround off so my trim looks like the picture in section 4.

Hi Carlos50
I have a 56 hst supercharger.
I purchased a cradle cr-3 and an old nokia 6230i this works fine and you can scroll through the phones names memory and making calls is easy Very Happy
With blue tooth you cannot do this but only make calls if you do it by setting up the voice activation....which is a nightmare if you dont speak purfect queens english Crying or Very sad
The only good thing when you are connected to blue tooth is its easy to answer an incoming call.
Hope you get it sorted soon Thumbs Up V8 - HST Supercharger ..... The only way forward ! Wink

From day one the LR telephony/bluetooth system has been crap. Do a search and you will find tons of complaints! The bluetooth system in my RRS has been giving me trouble for the past 3 years and LR has never been able to settle the issues!

Instead of spending more time and money chasing after something that will eventually disappoint you, why not just get an aftermarket telephone/bluetooth system fitted? Surely one of the forum sponsors can fix this for you, no?

It's a pity I cannot find any reliable people in my country to do what so many companies in the UK can do regarding the system (from what I read here), otherwise I would have done the conversion long ago!! Laughing Malaysia Boleh!

I haven't spent that much to date, a software update from wiggs on D3 and a bit of effort.

I wont use it that often, i just wanted the option to answer incoming calls with the phone in my pocket etc.

I get "phone removed" each time i enter the RRS so it much be looking for the cradle which ofcourse isnt there. I hope that unplugging it will allow Bluetooth to work and because i have the very latest software i also hope that it functions ok aswell Banging Head

Bobby, thanks for the instructions, i had a look last night and after hearing the first clip undo i scared myself to death and stopped.

Anyone know if releasing these clips has a particular method or do i just pull hard?. They seem like they will snap.
