Auto light sensor.....again

Still having problems with auto lights. Bobby has been incredibly helpful sending wiring diagrams and great info. I was told the the auto light sensor was located with the rain sensor in 1 module that clips into the windshield behind the rear view mirror. I replaced the module and nothing. I changed fuses and nothing. Now, a Range Rover dealer in Los Angeles has told me the the auto light sensor is the little bubble that sits on the grill on the dash next to the windshield and the module on the windshield is the rain sensor only. Who is right?? Mike mike murphy

I think your dealer is referring to the "Sunlight Sensor".

Quote:
The sunlight sensor consists of two photoelectric cells that provide the ATC (automatic temperature control) module with inputs of light intensity, one as sensed coming from the left of the vehicle and one as sensed coming from the right. The inputs are a measure of the solar heating effect on vehicle occupants, and are used by the ATC (automatic temperature control) module to adjust blower speed, temperature and distribution to improve comfort. The sensor is installed in the center of the instrument panel upper surface and is powered by a 5V feed from the ATC (automatic temperature control) module.

I am in a hurry to catch a plane but I will try to post a diagram showing this sensor's location.
