RRS Hunting UK and Ireland

Hi all,

Other than the Sales Corner here, Pistonheads and Autotrader are there any other good places to find vehicles?

I was told by a friend there are a lot of RRS' in Ireland (N and S) which is something I could consider too...

Thanks!

2007 Range Rover Sport Supercharged HST Zermatt Silver

I live in deepest darkest Wiltshire and had to go to Newcastle to buy my latest one. According to my local dealer there is a distinct lack of RRS and other 4x4' coz of the bad weather. Alledgedly the LR dealer in Exeter sold their entire stock in a few days when the snow arrived!

Be prepared to travel far and widce to find exactly what you want.

If you're looking in Republic of ireland, these are the most popular sites:

www.autotrader.ie
www.carzone.ie
www.donedeal.ie
www.cbg.ie

in Nothern Ireland, just use a BT62 postocode on autotrader.co.uk, also check out gumtree.

Main NI dealers are Hursts and Donnellys.

There are a lot of RRS's knocking about Dublin, and with the current state of the economy a good few motivated sellers. Mostly the diesel models though.

Hope that's some help.

I had a look on the above sites, and I would have thought that there were deals left right and center ... on the contrary much more expensive to buy over there Question

What you'll find is a lot of the cars advertised on those sites are at 'wishlist' prices... if there's something you're interested in, I would say a straight cash offer would cut a LOT of the price. In the past few years a lot of people here in Ireland bought a lot of high end cars on the somewhat foolish basis that their house would continue increasing in value, forever. So a good few cars are on sale at stupidly high prices, as they were bought at stupidly high prices in the first place. (VRT is a huge extra cost in Ireland - it can add around 30% to the price of a car)

Keep and eye on the sites too, particularly donedeal, as motiviated sellers use that one the most.

Good luck

€43950?

36K might seem like a bargain but at 44K advertised it was well over priced.

i bought a 07 this year, with 50,000 miles advertised at 36950... cash sale.. 33K with 1 year warranty.

Ireland is not a good place to go looking unless seriously cheep asunless it was origionally a uk one import tax applies witch is hefty on a second hand one. Northern Ireland is full but demand is soo high for them the price is ofter £3-5K higher than on the mainland. I would be interested in selling mine but it may not be a good price but it is aboutas fresh an example as you will find. TP Topping is another main dealer in Northern Ireland and there are several independants who keep an extensive stock or Rangies.
