Really does not surprise me...

They market the car as a performance vehicle then complain when people drive them quicker than pedestrian..

The last Impreza engine had been eco mapped so badly they were cracking pistons left right and centre... Subaru's official line was "you're all driving them too hard..it's not our problem" with engines letting go at just 4.5k miles.... I had mine re-mapped to run a safer mix and it never missed a beat... but my warranty was history.. RRS gone

I had my P1 mapped by bob rawle in swindon, what he didn't know about subaru's wasn't worth knowing, i only had mine mapped for safety rather than power only because prodrive made such a bad job of it in the 1st place and there were too many P1's letting go.

Ah yes Bob..good man...He's 30 mins away from me...

He did my 2003 STI but not my 2008 STI, he was not happy with tuning the new engine till they'd got to the bottom of the failures... but does now. RRS gone

I always do my homework before letting just anyone touch my motors especially something as important as a remap, no matter what the cost.

If you're really worried about warranty Stella take a look at JE Engineering's re-mapping (based in Coventry).. I'm sure someone's said before that their map is offered as a warranty friendly one by local dealers? I'm not 100% sure but worth asking them RRS gone
