Sorry about that! Here is a new link to the same document:

Could one of the Administrators of this forum please fix it so people use the above link and don't even see the broken one?

Thanks,

England 2008 Range Rover Sport TDV8 HSE Stornoway Grey

this is a superb mod. Why the heck isnt this standerd??

its a right pain in the arse not having the back seats lit, makes lifting the baby seat in and out so much harder in the dark.

can i just ask if someone could point me in the right direction for the diode's ?? eg a item code from Maplin??

have seen this one but not 100%

http://www.maplin.co.uk/rectifier-diode-19079

also i intend to do this in the next week or so... would a video guide be of any use?? 08MY HSE 3.6 TDV8 Stornoway Grey, Twisted performance cat back... and shed loads of extras!!!

Hi Tommy Boy

It seems a couple of us have done this in the last few weeks, having stumbled across Alan's original work, you can read our updates in this thread

http://www.rrsport.co.uk/forum/topic20566.html

I have added some more pictures here and they are available in my gallery also.

The Diode from Maplin is a 5404 diode and costs about 36p IIRC - you need 2 (1 for each reading light) to make the lights work independently, as you will read in the other thread.

Big thanks to Alan for the original write up which allowed me to do this Bow down Bow down Thumbs Up Finally my kids can find their seatbelts etc Very Happy

Hi Tommy

The diodes in my car are 1N5404 rectifier diodes from Maplin, Maplin code I think is QL84F and they are listed as 29p each Smile

Mr. Green Mr. Green

Job done!!!

Just finished doing this myself. Superb!!! Wink

not a very hard job, little tedious but easy enough. Hardest part for me was the routing of the wire from the rear passinger side light to the boot. Thanks to previous owner he replaced all the interior lights with LED's so now when the car is unlocked everything lights up mega!! this will make putting the baby seat in a little easier. Also retained indipendant use thanks to the two diode's in line.

Thanks to all who have put the time and effort into the guides, very very helpfull.

"Tommy's tip" i used an old Rover V8 dipstick to feed the wires under the headlining to the relevant areas..... nice and long and easy to tape the wire to the end. Mr. Green Razz

thanks again 08MY HSE 3.6 TDV8 Stornoway Grey, Twisted performance cat back... and shed loads of extras!!!
