Switzerland 2008 Range Rover Sport TDV8 HSE Santorini Black
RRS TDV6 with 190hp or TDV8 with 272hp???

Hello every body,

I am new in this forum. I plan to buy my first Land Rover this year in may or June. I love the Range Rover Sport. Initially I were looking for a good car with a good fuel efficiency. My choices were the 2008 Lexus 400H, the 2008 BMW X5 30d, the Mercedes ML350CDI or the Audi Q7 3.0tdi.

After a good reflection, I decided to go for the Range Rover Sport. I love the off-road capacity of this car. I plan to use it like it should be used. And I live in Switzerland so I need a car who is not afraid of the snow.

I got just a problem, I want a car capable to react when I plan to overtake another car. I know it's not a GT but I want an engine who can push the car easily.

So here is my questions:

Can the TDV6 of 190hp push the car without problem or this engine is too weak for this car of 2500Kg.
Is the tdv8 of 272hp a better choice? Or the tdv6 can do the job. I travel a lot on highways.

Thank you for your answers. 2001 Nissan Maxima
2001 VW GOLF 4 V5
2008 Range Rover Sport (Plan to buy on june)

If most of you driving is motorway then a TDV6 is your best choice..at least you will get some range for your tank full. RRS gone

I had a TDV6 and now I have a TDV8.

Test drive both of them, you will go for the 8 '08 RRS TDV8
I converted my diesel RRS to run on an environmentally friendly mixture of caribou fat and baby seals oil
