looking to purchase a cycle carrier and looks like it will be one of the above.cheapest 9503 is around £140,however halfrauds have a 9403 for £116.just spoken to thule who say the 9503 has superceeded the 9403 and the only thing different is the length.comments from any owners will be much appreciated pls Thumbs Up

looks like the only difference is that the lightboard on the 9403 is a bit cheaper looking than on the 9503( i have thisd one and it is a great rack for the price - paid £120 at the local trailer centre but had to build it up at that)
either one would do! MY10 TDV6 SE (debadged Wink ), Santorini Black, Flappy paddles, Privacy Glass, 20" Stormers, Mudflaps!

Gone: a comprehensive list of imprezas and a Merc ML AMG

Re: thule 9503 or 9403

I've recently bought the 9403 from Halfords, mainly as the price was right Mr. Green
Fixes tightly to the tow ball and is easy to load with bikes.
Much better than roof mounted and rear hatch types i've had in the past.
Nik.

I went and searched a few MTB forums and picked my Thule up for £50, second hand, showing signs of carrying muddy bikes, but fine for what I need Wink

thule boot access

Am I right in assuming that the 9403 has a tilt function that allows easy boot access when the bikes are mounted? RRS 3.0 SDV6 HSE 2012 Santorini Black

Re: thule boot access

Yes but you don't really need it with a RRS, just open the upper half of the boot hatch and reach in Mr. Green

United Kingdom 2007 Range Rover Sport TDV8 HSE Java Black

Hi there, just joined the forum and hopefully will be picking up my 2007 '57 RRS sometime next week.

On the discussion about bike racks, has anyone ever fitted the Thule roof rack system for bikes to the RRS? I have the 754 system for the Audi RS4 i used to own. Seems a shame to get rid of it. The feet for the 745 to fit RRS are similar, only need to change a couple of parts. I can imagine the bikes will be very high and cause a lot of drag, and more than likely will need a set of steps to load and unload the bikes. Bad idea or not???

Cheers
Henry

I wouldn't want to balance myself on the side steps whilst trying to load a bike on the roof so i say bad idea.
Recipe for disaster Sad
