Firstly Welcome Aboard.
Would love some more detail on this, have heard it can be done relatively cheaply with the dollar the way it is. A PM would be appreciated.
Agree with you on all of the above. VW Toureg might be a good one, I currently have a VW R36, but to be honest the after sales experience and customer care drove me away from that brand. Trying to find out specs or pre order a car was impossible - Even though it has been out for ages in Europe the dealer told me to do a google search. My lease expires in June and so I needed to make a decision, hence the change to a RRS.
What was the TDV6 Riding on? Standard is 19 inch for the regular and 20 inch for the Luxury? Just so you know you can change from the standard 20 inch Luxury Wheels to the Stormer 20 inch at no cost if you factory order.
I have heard this new Porsche is a cracker. You might want to look at resale values though. I have to worry about resale as the car is leased, and it swayed me away from the ML350CDI and Cayenne very quickly. RRS seems to fair pretty well. Have they updated the interior on the Cayenne? I remember the first gen was pretty ordinary.
You should have bought in December, there was LR factory rebates. I bought a 2011 (Being Built in Feb) RRS TDV6 Luxury with RSE and Towpack. Free servicing for 3 years. Driveaway was less than $115k. Also had a corporate discount. Bargain Hard as LR have ambitious sales targets this year, as their new owners want to sell cars (Though I reckon the Evoque will sell like a ba$tard when it arrives mid year).
As I said I ordered 30th December and for a new build am expecting delivery late May/ Early June. If you go factory order, it takes time.
One Thing I have noticed on this forum and all other car forums is that you get a good idea of all problems by looking through the threads. However you need to take it with a grain of salt. Generally people get online and post negative comments or experiences. Seldom (not never, but Seldom) do people get on and say how perfect their car has been. I am a member on VW forum and Mini Forum and used both as an invaluable tool to research the cars prior to purchase. I have had zero issues with both cars in the time I have owned them, which you would think is virtually impossible if you read the forums. That said Rangies do have a lot of electronics, and a reputation for gremlins (as do all British cars). However you have warranty which can be extended to 5 years 200,000kms, which is better than BMW and Mercedes (not sure on Porsche warranty). This gives you some comfort that the manufacturer backs their product to some extent. All the best with the purchase. My specs are Baltic Blue, Ebony Premium Leather with White Contrast Stitch, Anigre Trim, 20 Inch Stormers, Towpack and RSE. I cannot wait for delivery - even though it will mean goodbye to my R36 Wagon which has been a fantastic car. 2011 TDV6 Luxury - Baltic Blue, Ebony with Contrast Stitch, RSE, Stormers, Towpack. |

Unfortunately I am in the same boat, haven't posted 5 times... Will send through a PM once I meet the criteria. Good luck with the purchase. As you say the $125k price is a joke. You will get lower than that. Also note that the dealerships are all franchised, so depending on how the dealer is going in terms of sales will depend on what margin they are seeking - shop around for the best deal. Also if you are a corporate customer you can access the loan evaluation fleet - I had a TDV6 for 4 days so my wife and I could put it through its paces properly - commuting, shopping centres, highway etc. Cheers 2011 TDV6 Luxury - Baltic Blue, Ebony with Contrast Stitch, RSE, Stormers, Towpack. |

I have swapped 20's for 19's due to poor weather and I think the ride has improved Hi, I found that the ride was ok but the tyre noise was bad. What is it like on the 19". If I can buy a ex demo and it has 20" I will simply change tyre brands when they are due for replacement. I have 285-60 R18 Nitto Dune Graplers on the Navara and they are quiter. Cheers |
