No, the problem is half sorted.
Chris received the new cable today and hopefully will come down some time next week to fit it, fingers crossed it will all work out  TDV8 HST STORNOWAY ON A 58

The other halfs Merc is getting a detailed today,then the RRS is getting done tommorow

Did the install all get sorted? Who's doing the detail and how much is it costing if you don't mind me asking?
Thinking of having mine done but would rather use some that has been used by someone in the past. Some before and after pics would be great

The install went great

I am using a man called Paul Townsend of Shine on detailing (www.shineondetail.com).
Like i said hes doing the wifeys Merc today, 4 hours in and its already looking like it never has before.
He's doing the RRS tommorow, i will leave my camera with him tommorow so he can take before and after pics. From what i have seen of the work on the Merc so far he's on the ball with his work.
Plus hes only 30 minutes drive away from you. I will pm you the price that he has given me and have a word with him if you are happy with what you see. Mentioned to him regarding leaving the camera he said that he will do it with his camera as it will give a better result of the work done.

its never nice seeing your car in bits like that especially the center console. i used to do that for a living fitting screens and dvd players and such into range rovers, X5s and such good fun at the time.
