I just ordered a new RRSport. It has been built I am told. I will take delivery March 2011. Why is my dealer reluctant to put 2011 in my contract if sale? I have insisted an placed a deposit. Great price as I agreed to the deal on DEC 31 |

Thanks Guys. I imagine when you sell it though, it is the first year of registration that specifies the Year of the car? Sorry about my syntax earlier. iPhone whilst out at dinner.

Yep, The model year (MY) really denotes what specification level the car was produced at. Which is not the same thing as the production date of your car. Hence you can have a MY10 spec car that was produced & registered in 2009. Just to confuse things further, there are also sometimes .5 Model Years if there have been some small changes to specification, so for example you may see reference to MY10.5. 2013 Discovery HSE Luxury - 3.0 SDV6 - Santorini Black 2013 Evoque 5 Door Pure Tech SD4 - Orkney Grey with Panoramic Roof (Mrs E's new baby) GONE - RRS - 3.0 TDV6 HSE - Santorini (2010) GONE - RRS - 2.7 TDV6 HSE - Java Black (2007) GONE - Porsche Boxster S - 3.2 - Black |

Thanks again guys. I know it is an MY11, and it came off the line last week. So I am safe on a 2011, and MY 11.

Hi, there are no differences in the Australian Market between the MY10.5 and the MY11, i studied this closely when purchasing my recent Sport, MY10.5's come exactly the same spec, same colour range and options. This was also confirmed by two of the main Sydney Dealers, both who were vying for my business I was given the option of a new MY10.5 over a MY11, it was $3K cheaper and with more goodies on it. There were some great deals in december eh? My order was placed 30th December, massive saving off list. There was some factory landrover rebate I was told. Car is being built in Feb, Delivery end of May, which is perfect as my current lease (VW R36 Wagon) expires June 15. Very Excited, though reading through this forum worries me, I have had no major mechanical issues with my last 3 cars (2 VW and BMW), and it seems like there are some weird things happening to people. 2011 TDV6 Luxury - Baltic Blue, Ebony with Contrast Stitch, RSE, Stormers, Towpack. |
