Hi all,

My '07 Range Rover Sport has the optional DVD player with rear screens but the player has stopped reading disks. Has anyone had the same problem and fixed it? i bought a claning disk from Amazon but it hasn't worked, i get a message saying something like "wrong video system"

My 5 year old daughter would appreciate any ideas ....

I have got a similar problem. Mine says "check disk" and skips over quite a lot of disks. Bizarrely the DVD (which is really an alpine unit in my 2006 RRS) does actually work with some disks but not others. Originally I believed it to be region related but in practice I cant say which regions as all my disks are region 2 and I get mixed results. I have since discovered that some disks actually have sub region codes and I suspect the problem is related to that. Bottom line, if anyone knows how to update the region code data in the DVD it would be most appreciated!

DVDs that do work: Lost Boys, Tomorrow Never Dies, one that doesn't Harry Potter (all of em!), Star Wars (all of em!) - all region 2 original disks bought from the shops.
