United Kingdom 2008 Range Rover Sport TDV6 HSE Java Black

I recently did 1600 miles in 4 days - South Wales to Cairngorm and back with a few detours - in my 2.7 and averaged 33mpg for the whole trip.

I was staggered at that.

Cruising at an indicated 80 on the motorways.... 00 Audi B5 S4 MRC550'ed

England 2008 Range Rover Sport TDV6 S Buckingham Blue

I did a 200+ mostly motorway journey today which included 30 minutes parked on the M3 with the engine running due to an accident and stop start all the way from the M3/M25 junction to the M1, half the journey was on fairly clear roads where I was doing 70+, I averaged 35.6mpg over the entire journey!!

Just for information I do run with a 1:200 mix of 2 stroke oil in the fuel, the car has covered 23,500 miles from new.

Hello

I recently returned from Afghanistan and treated myself to a 55 2.7 RR Sport HSE. My driving is urban and motorway, I am lite with the right foot and use Texaco diesel. I only get 21.6 mpg or 21.7 on a good day. The previous owner apparently had it re-mapped and its on 22 inch wheels. Is the mpg normal? Any advice greatly appreciated.

i thought you suppose to get more mpg if you have had it remmapped is this not true ?

Anyone know, as I was looking at a remap, as getting sim mpg

I think you can get around 2-5mpg more from a remap in terms of economy.

If you look at it on the basis of a 2mpg increase and the RR has a 84 litre or 18.47 imperial gallon tank then you can expect 36.94 extra miles out of a tank of fuel.

I do not think you see any massive gains from a remap.

I always had my performance cars remapped, but they were always LIVE mapped as opposed to plug and play maps.

No don't touch them, if it all went wrong who would you turn to to put it right? I would only use somone who has been tried and trusted with a good reputation

Mine came with Goodyears - Most journeys 15 miles 30mpg, Motorway 70-75+mph, 35 mpg. Then I made a mistake, fitted Continentals now 28 (with care) Motorway driving, now lucky to get 31mpg.
Suppose this also belongs in the tyre debate thread.
