What do you suggest to deal with small stone chips . I have picked up a couple over the weekend which I have noticed, only small ones but I have noticed them anyway. Should I just leave them as I guess I will pick up more or shold I do something about them .

Also do you think having mudflaps will cut down on the number of small stone chips down the side of the RRS ?

p.s Thanks for all your help on the Alloy Wheel scrape.

I would recommend getting the mudflaps, I am buying these the day I get mine and will fit them myself, saving about £65. They will make a marked difference to the amount of chips and dirt spraying up the side of the car.

For less than £95 I think they are well worth it, and look good too. L319 D4 HSE

Are they easy to fit ? Do you have to take the wheels off ??

I read the instructions manual on the Land Rover website and they seem pretty simple to do, there is no need to remove the wheels no.

I've heard they take about an hour to do them all if you take your time, it looks simple. Undo some screws/fasteners in the wheel arch area, put on mudlfaps and tighten fasteners. L319 D4 HSE

Thanks . In the end I got my dealer to fit them for a small charge , while my RRS was in having an arm rest changed because of a mark in the Leather.

I have installed front and rear mudflaps on my white HSE (see "before and after" pictures I just posted in the gallery).

As previously mentioned, installation is indeed quite simple and does take less than an hour, just follow the included instructions (which look like they came out of an Ikea furniture box...) The fronts are slightly more complicated to fit (you need to cut out a small section of molding around the wheel well with a blade), and for the rear a stubby Phillips screwdriver (or an offset / goose neck type) will greatly help in easily removing and replacing a couple of screws behind the wheels, since you cannot just steer them out of the way as you will do with the front ones.

After witnessing the dirty mess that one day of light Southern California rain left on the side of my car a few weeks back, I think the mudflaps will definitely help in keeping things clean in that area, while also protecting against stone chips. IMHO they look nice and incospicuous (on darker colors they should look almost stealthy) and are cheap enough, around $75/pair here in the US. Highly recommended.

I had the mud flaps fitted by my dealer before it was delivered at the end of August.

When I cleaned the car yesterday I noticed that the screws used to fit the mud flaps were already starting to rust!

If I can't get any satisfaction at the dealer I will replace the screws with some of a higher quality or paint them matt black.
