Or go for someone like Warranty Direct, fair number on D3side that have that rather than LR one. LR warranties seem to not cover a lot, WD even cover's wear & tear. If it was me buying the car would either insist on proper 12 month warranty or walk away, plenty fish (well a few anywa) in the sea.

If you now go ahead and buy the car having raised these issues the 'law' is likely to take the view you walked forward with you eyes fully open. i.e. "contract acceptance"

You could even find that in their small print another warranty company might wiggle out of a claim because some facts weren't declared etc. - full disclosure.

Never do any deal unless you are completely happy with ALL aspects - you cannot go back.

There are other cars and good dealers out there who will bring their cars to you etc etc - give them your business and walk away from arrogant, dubious deals.

I think if I'd found I couldn't trust the character I was dealing with I'd walk as if you want anything in the future you know its going to be hassle.

I would walk away.

That is shoddy behaviour that is likely to be symptomatic of the treatment you will receive in the future.

Personally I would find out why they are saying they are only giving 3 months, if i didnt get 12 I would be getting intouch with LR customer services and be walking away.

12 months is the norm from LR dealer no question.

both of these incidents are quite shocking. Land Rover really need to be alerted to this as crooks of this nature should not be allowed to have a dealer franchise. I also thought misrepresentation was illegal under consumer laws.

I won't be considering this bunch of crooks when I replace mine with a new one soon.

There does seem to be a lot of "misrepresentation" going on as 3 cars I have inquired about in the past 2 weeks have either had incorrect registration dates or mileages advertised which made them seem more attractive,at the moment I'm prepared to believe they were honest mistakes but I am beginning to wonder  MY2011 HSE Santorini/Ivory/Piano Black/Privacy Glass/TV .Sadly gone.

I'm more than likely going to complete the deal in the new year. The said dealer was "clearish" when I met him - he did say it would come with a 3 month warranty and that it was a stratstone approved car - rather than LR. It's further complicated that I need to sell my car (going back this week for a good price, could be better! ) and need a car ASAP.

I will however do a few things. I will continue to search online for another car until I have actually signed the paperwork (so far a deposit).
I will not accept the 700 additional cover for 9 months, I will probably by some warranty from Kam's Co...
I will inform LR that they are selling LR's that should fall inscope of the LR approved cars - nd clearly not.

The car itself is great! 22k miles for a 56 plate, sunroof, privacy and my first choice in colour (buckingham and alpaca).



Hopefully I won't get that many stones... Looking forward to joining the crew and building a list of tasteful mods...!
