Banging noise and then lots of vibration !!!

HI, wonder if anybody can help with todays problem.
Will start at the beginning.
Odd noise from the back as though seat was not clicked in properly, a squeaky interior noise lasted about 7 days. Then a noise from under the car as though run over a stone. Then a vibration though the car, quite severe. slowed down and stopped, could not see anything. Drove again and was all fine. Got to about 80 and started again, slowed down to stop and it goes away. Start again and drove at 70 and was fine for a few miles and then started again. Soon as i stop and then restart its fine and then comes back when i hit 75.
Any ideas anybody, Its an 06 2.7 if that helps.
Booked in for a service in 2 weeks but interested in any comments.

Possibly a broken exhaust heat shield - it sits between spare wheel and exhaust. 2005 Zambezi TDV6 - Gone but not forgotten

Take it to Kwik Fit and ask them to inspect the tyres and exhaust whilst up on a ramp. They wont charge you for an inspection like that. Could be something serious going wrong and IMHO it needs checking asap. RRS TDv8 HSE Rimini

.....or any other exhaust / tyre retailler with a lift. If they say something is wrong then insist they show you the problem so you can make your own mind up. Surely better safe than sorry...... RRS TDv8 HSE Rimini

Agreed but that's if you've got a clue what they're showing you. Too many horror stories with kwick fit.

thanks all, will get it on the ramp today and have a look about, i know the owner of my local tyre place so should be fine, will report back. Odd how it stops when i stop and only comes back when i go over 70 to 75.
