Driving on the continent in a RHD - headlights

I'm after some advice on the headlight settings on my RHD RRS whilst driving in France and Germany. Is it necessary to pop the bonnet and change the lever on each headlight to change it's bias to LHD, or is the impact of this negligible? I ask because my dealer was under the impression there's no point! Rolling Eyes

Any advice welcome, thanks. L405 P400e Autobiography (MY2020)... Silicon Silver / Espresso

Scotland 2010 Range Rover Sport 3.0 TDV6 SE Santorini Black

i took mine to france earlier in the year, and after taking the unit out i found it was set to Lhd anyway!!! i still havent changed it back, and often get flashed at as people think i am on full beam (i must change it back!!) so yes you should change it over, especially with the short days! (and remember to switch back)
a tip for removing the unit, slide a piece of string under the toggle and pull up to avoid skint knuckles!!
cheers

Don't worry, if I do change them over I will drive with my full beam on to make up for it!

Dave, thanks for the tip about the string, I like my knuckles the way they are, so good tip. Does it have to be certified Land Rover string or would the laces out of my Air Jordan 14's do? I bought some on the recommendation of this forum and they are too big. Laughing

On a more annoying note, I order warning triangle and bulb kit from t'internet last week and they still have not arrived... damn snow. Fingers crossed for today. L405 P400e Autobiography (MY2020)... Silicon Silver / Espresso

I keep a set of RHD lights in Scotland for the times I'm over there ... had to get them as the LHD lights won't pass the MOT
Dosn't seem to mater much whether you change them you still get flashed, anyway my RRS with the driving lights on high beam are quite bright and you don't get flashed twice Twisted Evil Sons of dogs come hither and get flesh

thanks for the tips everyone.

I was reading the manual and realised it said the headlamps have to be removed to change the lever for driving overseas. I mean they must be having a giraffe, right? You just get a child to pop their hand being the unit, remove the rubber cover, and then use hair ribbon or a shoelace to lower the lever? Question

Seriously, this stuff should be electronic, it's daft. L405 P400e Autobiography (MY2020)... Silicon Silver / Espresso
