21.6 mpg normal for 2.7 HSE?

Hello

I recently returned from Afghanistan and treated myself to a 55 2.7 RR Sport HSE. My driving is urban and motorway, I am lite with the right foot and use Texaco diesel. I only get 21.6 mpg or 21.7 on a good day. The previous owner apparently had it re-mapped and its on 22 inch wheels. Is the mpg normal? Any advice greatly appreciated.

Mine normally runs at about 25mpg / 18mph av. at commute and 35mpg motorway.

What size tyres do you have? If the rolling diameter is not standard then it will affect the mpg / mph readings.

TDV6 in my Disco is averaging 29mpg

Cold weather (heated seats on, blowers on max, lights on all the time) will effect mpg though RRS gone

24.5mpg average on cold starts, short drives on country lanes, motorway best is 33mpg, the addition of two stroke oil seems to raise the mpg by approx 2 Wink

That's encouraging to know... Mine was on 12 when I picked it up... now managed to get it up to 19.8 with short cold trips... Really need a nice gentle cruise at 70 for 50 miles... but I'm having too much fun at the moment.. Mr. Green RRS gone

I am averaging 21-23 mpg in mine with same engine. However my car is not modified and runs on 19's so you are doing ok! Father in law gets 30 in his which is identical to mine but a bit newer. No idea how he does it!

I get about 21.6mpg on mine. Same 2.7 and same year. At the moment my wife is getting 14.6mpg on it as it is a very short journey of a couple of miles. Got up to 27 mpg on a 7 hour round trip to Norwich and back.
