Snow and Ice

Been planning to change my tyre's for the winter my choice, was vredestine 'then the snow started', what a nightmare, I hesitated, and lost the real good deal,

I had changed to 19" on my RRS after going throu 20" tyres like soft Mick potholes being the main culprit, I've had to go for a 19" pirelli snow and ice, bit pricey but at long last I feel in control.

my tyre fitter's choice was vredestiner but he just couldnt get his hands on them, he also said that a Russian firm had bought vredestine. and would not in the future have a uk supplier??

Wonder how much people are paying for snow tyres? mine £235 each fitted.

I had my tyres fitted at Keens tyre's Whitley Bay Tyne & Wear well recommend them. a womans rule of thumb:if it has tyres or testicles your going to have trouble with it

yeah the vredestine were going to be £187 fitted, but as I said pirelli's instead, think the price for those was about normal,
my fitter just did the deal no extra charge like balancing swapping the other tyres, fitting the new ones ,cost for extra sugar in the coffee you know the score...

£275 wow cheeky b****ds probably for nankins or whatever. a womans rule of thumb:if it has tyres or testicles your going to have trouble with it

Hi,

I'm running 20" Pirelli Snow & Ice and have found them excellent. If you're running low profiles take it easy in this weather, they are next to useless.

Werent verdesteins Paul. Cant remeber the make. I got them through Camskills but one had been crushed so wouldn't fit. Waiting on another arriving but what a difference to the traction in this muck over the Bridgestones!!!! Was out to Dinnet Saturday night and she never slipped or slid once. Just shows you that you dont need to spend a mint for decent grip. Hardly get a flicker of the TC light now even coming through the bit that they've decided not to grit but polish with a plough coming home!! At that price even if I only get 2 winters out of them theyre still worth every penny!! Especially as I'm off to Cumniestown later in the week and Forfar at the start of next!! Current, M135i in Estoril Blue with more extras than the cast of Ben Hur.
