I Really love these cars but at the same time they drive me insane. Tuesday morning when i started my RRS S/C the Airbag light Pinged on so I took it into my local dealer Guava whom can never do enough for me. They reset the light happy days or so i thought. On my way home the Amber engine management light came on so i took it back to Guava and they reset it but it came on within 10 miles. The car drives fine and im not getting any other warnings. Any ideas why its come on or what it could be as i don't think i can bare all these issues it seems to be 1 after another!

Will need to have it plugged in and see what the fault code is. When they reset it before they should have read the fault code and if it's the same code again then that's the problem.

Probably a faulty EGR valve - speak to Tim at Guava he'll sort it! 2005 Zambezi TDV6 - Gone but not forgotten

Hi Very Annoyed. Tim deals with all 5 of my RRS and you are very correct he really is a knowledgeable and helpful chap. I just get so fed up with these cars as it is one thing after another. The last time mine was on it was down to a supercharger pump setting me back £600 and i really don't have the time going in there once a week but i suppose it could be worst i could have to deal with hunters!

Very Annoyed if it turned out to be the EGR valves would it pay off to have the blanking kit fitted and would this extinguish the management light as clearly this would be alot cheaper. Is there anyone is surrey that would do it or has anyone used Keith Gott to replace them!

Does the EGR problem affect the S/C ?. I though it was a problem on the diesels?

Didn't think 4.2 SC engines had EGR, at least not the one I knew.

There are so many fault codes that can trigger an amber light, better to have it read, not worth to try to guess imho.

You could buy a very simple and cheap code reader that at least covers all the known engine ones (standard OBDII), there are many out there for 50 pounds or so. RRS SDV6 HEV Dynamic

Car now at Guava so lets see what faults the RRS has in store this time! No doubt Costly!

Domy123 - i have an amber engine light on my SC. Going in to Rangers tomorrow to have a look at. Did you resole yours?

My Engine Management light has come on. I opened the engine bay fuse box and pushed each fuse and relay home hard and that cured the fault! Sorted!
