Superchips Bluefin

Hello,

Has anybody got or used the superchips Bluefin on a RRS TDV8, I have seen a few on eBay for about £400. I like the idea of the Bluefin because when the RRS goes into the stealer it can be downgraded.

Any advice or thoughts would be appreciated.

Personally I would use one of the site sponsors. Alive Tuning or Bell Autos. Atleast if there's an issue you got more chance of it being resolved. Thumbs Up

The DTUK box isn't a remap, it fools the ECU into thinking the engine is operating in a manner it's not.

Not a good way to "tune" an engine. Like this site? Buy some RRSPORT goodies to show your support!

I believe the OP had asked about chips and thats what i was replying to, remaps and chips as we know are different things, i also know this product is doing more than fooling the ECU unlike cheap ebay chips!!

Anywho, i wont be dragging that old debate up, i was just offering an alternative, and one that i know of first hand Very Happy If it aint broke leave it!

Superchips Bluefin is a remap, "chipping" doesn't happen nowadays. Like this site? Buy some RRSPORT goodies to show your support!

Rislar thanks for the link,

I am keen to not add any unit to the vehicle and that's why I do like the super chips unit as you just plug it in and upload the new remap and then unplug it. Because you then have the unit you can then put it back to standard if required.

However you have now highlighted a side issue. The chip link youn sent me has a big section on cars fitted with diesel particle filters which my car has and I now need to see how super chips handle this issue.

Thanks for your help

I see that I am been urged to use a site sponsor however I don't believe it would given me ability to put my car back to standard at my will. Also I don't see how using these suppliers means I will always have them if I have an issue, surely they could go out of business just like anyone else.

Keep the info and recommendations coming

Neil, I suggest you take a look at BAS's "remap interface".

You're being directed towards sponsors as they have (a) a great LR specific product knowledge which may not be the case with more generic suppliers, (b) a desire to gain customers such as you as shown by their site sponsorship, and (c) they have a proven track record for support as can be seen from the forums. Like this site? I can assure you I'm not but think what you like. If you read my original post I suggested both of the site sponsors and didnt just single out one. The OP wanted something that can be returned to standard when he wanted which is exactly what the sponsors offer. I gave my opinion on remapping (which I dont know why I bothered with some people on here) and it was ignored untill Martin pointed the same direction as I already had.

Australia 2010 Range Rover Sport TDV8 HSE Luxury Santorini Black

I hear a lot about remaps verses adding a piggyback chip. On my 2008 TDV8 I was very happy with a remap style
enhancement. Changed the vehicle to a 2010 TDV8 and none of the site sponsors could provide me with a remap solution. Apparently the remap through port in the under the steering wheel area was blocked by something in the new LR software on their chips to prevent remaps. As the TDV8 is no longer an option in the 2010 models, no one
has offered a solution. The only way was the piggy back style chip that plugs into the fuel rail input and I'm not sure how it does it, but the results were equally as good as the remap variant of the previous vehicle. I read about the "chipexpress" solution on this website and have got all the benefits of faster take-offs, more elasticity in the mid range and a slight decrease in fuel economy. Living in Australia this was my only option.
