Dent in bonnet - only option replacement RRS TDv8

Hi,

Noticed dent yesterday about 2 inch across in size on top of bonnet above headlight. No idea how happened (looks too high for another car to have hit it?) possibly damage caused in high winds in last few days. LR approved bodyshop said only option is replacement bonnet at cost of £1300. Is this really the only option, if yes and cost seems about right then will need to be insurance claim!

Thanks for help.

Hogwash....

Dealers do not repair any more. they just replace.... easy money for them....

Unless there is a hole then any good body shop will repair it. If it costs more than £250 then your being had!!

My .02p worth....

Alex

It is a sad state of affairs that the above is correct, "Technicians" will not repair they will only replace parts.

Any decent bodyshop will sort that for you for at least half that price. IF you don't need paint then i would say it would be under £150.

A few years back i scrathed the corner of the bumper on a porsche i had, took it to Porsche who said "need a new bumper" Took it to local bodyshop and 2 days later the car look good as new.....£90 all in.

Follow up to my post - used Greta Body Works in Keswick - have done an amazing fix of the dent and also fixed a couple of other scratches. Great customer service and more important total cost inclusive VAT £285!

Thanks everyone for their help and especially for heading us towards Keswick. In answer to the question the original quote was Kentdale LR Kendal.

Driving back home today from Keswick in a blizzard was fun as well!!

Thanks
