Iceland 2006 Range Rover Sport Supercharged Santorini Black
Just bought a RRS Supercharged and want more power.

I just got a 2006 RRS Supercharged and want more power. Dont know anything about tuning those cars so I will just simply ask you guys.
Those of you taht have the Supercharged. What are the most common mods you do. The Range Rover is a new thing to me. just always wanted one and finally have one. Tell me also about those new engines. Whats so good about them. What are the most common faults with the old ones. What tends to break on the Supercharger and so on.

i think that you can get a ECU remap for the SC, but it does not dramatically improve its performance, to do that i think you also have to replace some pullies on the superchanger too

Its been discussed before, Search should throw something up

I bought a S/C recently and contacted Overfinch about the ECU remap which they point blank advised against as it offers no real improvement for the cost (£900 GBP).

They suggested a performance exhaust system £2K GBP) but i have also read about pulley kits etc which cost circa £4k GBP. Im not that desperate for extra power Smile

This is just a normal 850, but a great car. Actually my first car I ever bought and it has been with me since then. Was a real gangsta car back in the dasy. Had survived a bullet attack and so on Very Happy.

£900 Shocked ripoff

Remap and pullies will give around 40 to 50bhp A bit of supercharger flowing will reduce inlet temps and give more reliable power. Uprate the charge cooler radiator along with a higer flow pump will again help reduce inlet temps increasing power a little. Some exhaust work will free up a bit more.

Hi Fatandre, did you go the 'insane' route for more power?

It would be interesting to hear how the Kenne Bell conversion goes on a Sport! On the eighth day, the Lord said 'Let there be power', and he gave unto man nitrous oxide.

On a 4.2 ???? Really?? I would like to see that........very much Twisted Evil

That must be pushing the engine to its absolute limit! The 5.0 SC allegedly comes off the production line at 600bhp and they are detuned to 510bhp.............I remember reading somewhere that the 4.2 was maxed out at 490 Question L322 Big Daddy SUPERCHARGED 5.0 Autobiography - Here & Now!

The 4.2 with the eaton is pretty maxedout already stock. Without major engine changes, but serious other ones I would rather guest about 50 bhp more max (which is what for instance JE Enginering offer).

With the twin-screw the 4.2 is easily capable of about 550 bhp, and more (am NOT kidding). The twin-screw is just much more efficient, and will require much less power from the engine to turn and produces much less heat, hence 500 bhp with a twin-screw is safer for the engine than 450 with a eaton. RRS SDV6 HEV Dynamic
