Front Diff

Hi
Following on from my recent topic re UHP Grabber tyres and a noise on decellaration, the main dealers say that the front diff is the problem and that it is very noisy. The vehicle is a 2005 model which has only done 40k.

I have been quoted for a complete diff , and fitting approx £800.

My question is, are these diffs not repairable or is that not cost effective? Due to low mileage i assume something has failed( ie bearings or pinion gear wheels)

Any thoughts or ideas much appreciated.

Ta Very Happy
