Has any one driven both? I know in Europe petrol costs are high so the TDV6 would be very popular but downunder petrol and diesal are about the same price. The reason i am asking is I am about to order a replacement for my TDV8 but can't decide which way to go |

Wish I could afford the supercharged but at close to $190k in OZ might be hard to do. the 5.0petrol will still be able $150k so a big spend |

You can't order a new TDV8 now though which I guess is why he was asking which way to go. WINNER - 2009 ‘Just Doing What It’s Designed To Do’ Award

yes we are over charged I know. Even a fitted out TDV6 will be about 120k so the V8 petrol at $150 look ok |

On my first ever trip to Oz way back then the pound got close to around A$3.. Following its hammering in te the "GFC", the good old pound now gets just above ~A$1.60... Land Rover have not altered their prices... yet TV prices and other consumer items prices have dropped signifcantly..

HJF, If you cannot pick up a TDv8 (might still be some stock) i suggest the 3.0 litre oil burner, depending on the amount of KM's you do. On the TDv6/8 You are likely to get twice the number of KM's to a tank full than the standard V8 petrol. A friend of mine has the V8 D3, he gets 300K's or averages approx 18L/100KM's, mine is rarely above 10L/100KM's and usually about 8.xL/100KM's on long journeys.. So its not about the price of fuel, its about how many times you wish to fill it up Another Pommie Bar Steward down under MY20 Defender 110 SE P400 Eiger/Ebony MY10 3.0 RRS TDv6 Fuji/Ebony/Anigre |

Understand about the fuel consumption on the V8 just didn't think the TDV6 would feel like a good enough replace on the current TDV8. I would do about 20000 k's a year mostly local driving but will normally do a trip to the snow which from the gold coast is about 3000k's.

Whilst not as grunty as the TDv8, i understand the 3.0L v6 is no slouch.. Another Pommie Bar Steward down under MY20 Defender 110 SE P400 Eiger/Ebony MY10 3.0 RRS TDv6 Fuji/Ebony/Anigre |

Others are quoting rumours that they are putting the 4.4 TDV8 in the RRS.... So maybe wait until this is confirmed before changing your car... |
