Software Updates on my RRS

Hi All,

I have a question for the more experienced RRS owners. When a software update is given as a reason for a warning light appearing on the dash, is one software update carried out for the whole car or are there seperate software updates for different modules in the car that take care of different areas of the car? I am getting fed up with having to have software updates carried out on my car and being charged each time for the privilege!!! Big Cry

Your car is not that smart! Wink

It's up to your regular dealer/service garage to inform you of such updates. Alternatively, if the updates are not critical, they could advise you when to come in for your normal service/repairs etc. Smile Malaysia Boleh!

I don't understand what you mean by "main innovations of the last software".

Software updates are always there, not unlike the programs you have on your computer, I believe. However, since your vehicle has no direct internet connection to receive automatic updates, its up to the dealer to notify you of current versions available. Malaysia Boleh!

Corner lights are already there from the earliest models...
so too with the clock.

What did you see on your MY2008? Malaysia Boleh!

I think we're abit confused here. A software update means exactly that. Update an existing software that runs/controls something in your car.

If you do not have cornering lights in your car, there is no software to update (for the cornering lights). Even if you manage to "put" in the software, you're not going to get cornering lights in your car! Rolling Eyes

The same goes with the clock etc.

Likewise, if you buy a MY2011 now, you will notice a few things that are not in your MY2008!

I hope I understood you correct!! Smile Malaysia Boleh!
