Delivery

I was expecting delivery of my Sport last week to be told that the LR's transport company has folded. Dealers around the country are awaiting deliveries whilst the situation is resolved. Anyone else experiencing the same problem and if so how long are you being told you will have to wait?

That's ridiculous if Land Rover's transport company has folded. They must be one of the busiest in the UK at the moment. There is almost a constant convoy of car transporters coming down the M6 & M40 (loaded with D3's and RRS) - which I assume are going to the docks. Matt

RRS ownership for 1 yr, then D3 for 2 yrs. Then cut back to old bangers and working my way back up through two Peugeots in 6 months. Now got Saab 9-5 2.3t and enjoying the performance!

My dealer is in the North of Scotland so I guess he won't be going to fetch my car! I'm told that they have appointed a new transportation company but no-one can get through to find out what's going on. I just hope the real reason is that my car is not on lap 2 of the paintshop or something even more sinister!

Really? I too would be surprised that they just upped and folded!

It didn't delay mine - although I guess mine might have got in under the wire, as I took delivery late last week so factory to Gaydon to dealer I guess would have happened a few days previous.

Cheers

The dealer has finally collected my vehicle and will deliver it to me tomorrow. It appears genuine that the transport company has been put out of business - a lot of vehicles have been stuck at Gaydon. My dealer travelled from Inverness to collect my vehicle from a central distribution centre near Glasgow. They also provided me with a loan car (as I had sold my car privately) and delivered it to me at work (I live and work 150 miles from the dealership). They have knocked 10% off accessories (tow bar, side steps, rubber mats and mud flaps) and also advised me to negotiate with Land Rover 3 years free service for the hassle (I got 1 year). No discount off the car - surprise, surprise. So 2 weeks late but exceptional dealer service has restored faith and made the wait less painful.
