The 3.6 TDV8 does not meet the latest European emissions standards. So any new 3.6 TDV8's will need to be registered before 31 December 2010 else they would have to be scrapped Shocked - so expect some nice discounts on 2010MY TDV8 RRS and FFRR's in the third quarter.

I drove both TDV8 and TDV6 RRS recently. TDV6 3.0 is a fantastic engine and is more responsive in everyday driving. TDV8 makes a great noise and is quicker if you rag it, but not quicker in normal driving - I think the TDV6 3.0 is more brisk in normal driving, and it's more economical too. Therefore TDV8 is not worth a premium, which was why I went for a new 2011MY TDV6 instead of a used 2010MY TDV8. Thumbs Up L405 P400e Autobiography (MY2020)... Silicon Silver / Espresso

I was wondering if the TDV8 3.6 was being dropped in preparation for the new TDV8 4.4 as fitted to the new FFRR's. Now that would make it a SuperSport, especially combined with the 8 speed box. Thumbs Up

Land Rover said there were "packaging issues" putting the 4.4 TDV8 into the RRS. Some say it won't fit, but I, like some others, believe it would fit. Why design a new engine that will only fit in the FFRR? I think it's just they need to keep the FFRR as the flagship. If I were a betting chap I would say we'll see either a 3.0s TDV6 (as per Jaguar) or a 4.4 TDV8 for RRS 2012MY. Or both! Mr. Green L405 P400e Autobiography (MY2020)... Silicon Silver / Espresso

Chosen mainly because it was the only diesel offered so deciding which one was fairly easy even for me. Whistle
