If you thought you were bad at driving....

Some of your passengers might get thrown around a bit when you drive but look what happens when Tim in Scotland gets behind the wheel of his very big boat! Wink

And that's a calm day on a ship that, being a cruise ship, doubtless has several sets of roll reducing stabilisers, The number of crew in that area of the ship is more than my entire crew on a bigger ship too, but then we don't have 3000 unreasonable and objectionable passengers to look after either.

On a more serious note, the second part of that video shows a totally unforgivable scene onboard any ship where nothing appears to have been secured for sea, let alone for heavy weather and had that been a UK flag ship (it was Liberian) the vessel's command and Chief Engineer would have been crucified by the UK authorities for endangering the ship, passengers and crew safety by leaving all the equipment down in what looks like the engine store or garbage handling space unsecured when they KNEW the ship was heading into bad weather. To have an at least 2 tonnes forklift truck unsecured could actually have led to it either damaging the ship's engines or even going out through the ship's side. I recently sat on a court of inquiry into a very similar incident to this that occurred in UK waters last winter.

I would like to know why a cruise ship with 1750 passengers and 600 crew was even in a location where it got into that situation - the Master and cruise director should be sacked for allowing a cruise ship to have got into that situation which is totally avoidable with today's weather forecasting. 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it

Just showed that to the wife... she now wants me to change the ferry booking for next weekend to the channel tunnel Shocked

It was down right irresposible having so much loose equipment when heading into rough weather, The ice machine crushing the lady against the counter brrr, and then seeing all the loose equipment below, the crew needs keel hauling Smile

In crossing the north sea they always lash the cars and trucks down, they usually start before we have left the car deck, and it would not be the first time I have had to unchain my car before disembarking. Sons of dogs come hither and get flesh

Tim - will it be investigated formally? Can't believe how lucky the crew member was just before the Forklift got flung across the deck
