Could any forum member explain me what is the legal status of the TSB's?

Does the dealer have to repair the car for free, or is it just for information only?

If yes, is this also the case if hte car is out of guaranty?

I have to go tomorrow to my spanish dealer and am a litle worried about what he is going to say about the TSB's i've printed out.... QUE ES ESO!!!????

LR often states on TSB's for the dealer's benefit, whether or not the "fix" is charge-able. My experience of getting the car upgraded to the latest TSB's has always been that they have been done free of charge as my cars have still been within warranty.

I recommended a neighbour a few years ago when he was buying a Freelander1 from the local garage (not Land Rover franchised) to make it a condition of the sale to get them to take it to the local LR dealer and get it serviced and brought up to date - even though it was well out of warranty the TSB's were applied for free. I'm not sure what the legal status of a TSB is though - basically it's a manufacturer's recommendation, if it was serious and compromised safety then a recall would be initiated. 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it

Well... brought the car yesterday at the dealers for changing the EGR valves.
Since i was there i mentioned the TSB's for the Tailgate noise and the Steering Wheel Airbag cover curling up.

And as predicted....QUE ES ESO??!!
No, No, No!! only the recalls are done for free.
Because there is no discussion possible with spanish employees, since they are not entiteled to take any discisions or responsibility, i let it quickly go.

Then i asked if i could use a company car during the repairs.
The answer was that: No!, but i could rent a KIA with them for 24 hours.

Today, i did't hear nothing from the dealer, so i called them at 1600 to ask if my car was ready as agreed.
No, because when test driving the car this morning(...) they found out that one of the new EGR's which can fresh from the factory, was faulty.
The car had to stay with them until monday, as the valve had to be ordered.
Can happen, but why they didn't call this morning then?

When i informed them that i rented the rental car only for one day, and i was not considering to pay for 4 days, they told me that i could pick the car up today with the faulty EGR and bring it back monday, or i had to pay "only" 2 days...

What is wrong with those people!!
